Description
Digital painting done in Photoshop.I think I'm really improving at my color usage lately. I'm particularly proud of how this is mostly using a very limited color family, yet doesn't look too monochrome or washed out.Β

Thanks! I've been learning a lot about light and textures through the Chris Oatley online classes I've been doing. It's making a huge difference in my work. I'm starting to see where I usually get things wrong and I'm better able to figure out how to fix them. This one almost went off the rails a time or two, but I managed to get it back, and better for the derailment.

That little surge of technique that puts you as an artist, and your art, up to the next level...

Oh! Also I was inspired and started painting this while I watched a few of Aaron Blaise's wildlife art videos. He's really good and a few of those are available on Youtube or his site for free (really good teasers that actually have info in them) or low cost.
