Description The Gallibon was most certainly one of the most curious creatures I have had the severe misfortune to come across. Certainly, I had always heard the stories, about the vicious all consuming creatures that would erupt from the very earth, consuming all living material in sight, leaving only dirt and ash.

Of course, like any gentleman of science, I had given the likelihood of such an alarmingly monstrous creature actually existing as much credence as the likelihood of pikelets being served without tea (on my watch, at any rate. I am QUITE aware that the orks and so help me some HUMANS would do just this - is there nothing left of the empire?)

But they are very much real. While I cannot confirm the legends that they erupt from fissures in the earth, they do indeed consume every living thing. Every animal, every blade of grass, every last worm in the dirt.

It is not simply for this reason that I find myself in a rare panic. Indeed, as I am already dead, the creatures seemed to look straight past me, though I did have to hastily release and shoo the baby harpy I had been keeping in a cage.

No, what disturbs me about the Gallbbon, is that they do not attack and eat from hatred, or hunger. They consume only because it is all they think to do. They consume, but do not consume each other, if attacked by something inorganic; they will only briefly lash out before resuming attempts to consume.

Nothing about them coincides with any form of natural order or place in nature. They were created. Created to destroy. I know not when, and I know not by whom. All I know is that I must know. And so, It is with a heavy, but unmoving heart that I inform you that this will be my last correspondence to you, sirs. At least until I have some answers.

I am fully aware that I in breach of contract, but I have attached for your consideration, a list of up and coming young researchers I have noticed, that could perhaps fill my shoes.

Again my apologies. Do not try to find me. You will likely die.
I say this not to threaten you, but to warn you. You always did right by me.

Rest assured, that if I ever do return, I will more than happily make up for lost time. It's only forever, which is not long at all.

Yours, in fondness,
L.B. Harmless

This critter screeches, doesn't it? Unearthly, high-pitched screeching...worse'n a howling Elfdar Banshee...

it sounds like a mixture of an over revved motorbike and rock and roll screech guitar.

Interesting design. I think this might have been improved with some sense of scale- as it is, I don't really know how large this beast is. I'd guess a bit smaller than a man, going with my gut.

I like the description for this creature, makes me think of something designed by, say, a Lich to soften up the mortals before moving in.
