This picture has a lot going for it: the lighting, composition, the captured moment, the expression, the kid's beauty.
He looks vulnerable yet confident. Best of luck to him.

Thanks. I love taking pictures of musicians.. and I have a lot of them! Many never make it to dA but they are a favorite subject.

what is suzuki method?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

myrnajacobs In reply to SLPdomain [2009-05-11 03:04:14 +0000 UTC]

It's a way of teaching very young children to read and play music. All I've ever seen them play is violin so I'm thinking that is all they do...but not sure. They start very very young ... like as soon as they can hold a violin.

Ha, I thought that was a fish at first! Neat photo, I think it was a great choice making it black & white. Cute kid too, great subject material - though probably hard to keep still!

He's really a little performer so he knows about pictures. He's quite amazing to photograph actually. Thanks for the nice comment, Wes.

he is a relative.. He's my nephew and just wonderful.

We are Up North right now. It's cold and we had a frozen pipe so no water or heat for a while. Now it's all fixed...or at least handled for the moment.

We are about to go out for a ride in the jeep just to see the countryside a bit, look for morel mushrooms and just enjoy.

His mother and father make sure he has every exposure he needs to be well educated, rounded and well... able to choose intelligently what he likes.

But it makes for a very very busy mom.

I've once seen these small kids playing in an old church, it was amazing!!

Yes, he is my nephew. He's a bit older now but looks essentially the same. I'm not sure he still plays but he is a dancer and actor. as well as all the other things young boys do.

love this shot, I know that purists would say use fill in flash or reflectors but for me, the shadows make it "real"
