Description Here be the flag of the Progressive Union, a multinational organisation of nations which follow the phillosophies first espoused by Professor Douglas Everret in 2031, who claimed that continuing political and social turmoil among the human race was the greatest barrier to pure scientific research, and that for the greatest benefit to be achieved, the human race should be united under a single banner and lead as a technocracy, by groups of scientists and engineers selected on intellectual merit to serve in the government for a limited time.

After the Fusion Wars (2077-2109), the Progressive Union took the place of the dominant power on Earth, and also became the undisputed power of the solar system within the orbit of Venus. After the end of the wars, the PU was also moved from a loose association of nations, closer to being a full allied federation. This transition was deemed nescessary to best aid and serve the interests of the "puppet nations" formed from the territories occupied by and granted to the various Progressive Union powers.

Awesome! Though I'm a meritocrat at heart, technocracy is not too far away from that, so I wouldn't mind. I like the green colour and the cogwheel, makes them seem industrious and... environmentalist? So now the world's in the hand of a league of hippie scientists. XD

Jokes aside, it'll be interesting to see what thou'll make of the solar system, with its colonial uprisings and whatnot. It'll be the Americas all over again. ^^

It's currently a lot less fleshed out than the details on Earth, but currently I've got the PU on Mercury and Venus, the Communists on Venus, the Asteroids, and Saturn, the Allies on Mars and Jupiter, and everyone having a hand on the Moon

Nice flag!

But of course Technocracy is it's own kind of terror.

Eh, the "Greater good" thing works well enough. That plus they control the design and production of the world's only reliable, cheap, clean and efficient energy resource...
