I don't understand why would Britain be communist, logically speaking if Britain had to choose sides they would most certainly choose the side of democracy due to their strong ties with the USA and Western Europe.

Why is South Africa, Great Britain, Ireland, Tanzania, Costa Rica, Portugal, and Panama Communist? They never had any communist separatists.
On the topic of Communist Separatists why isn't Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Peru, Paraguay, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Sudan, Republic of the Congo, Eritrea (Who should be part of Ethiopia) Angola, Kenya, Chad, South Yemen, Bangladesh, Nepal, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Albania, Syria, Iraq, All of Korea, and Italy not communist? All of these countries experienced communist coups, a communist regime, support from the Soviets or China, or anything relating to such?
Gee its almost like you didn't do any fucking research, oh wait, you didn't

lol thanks A lot of my stuff comes off the back of a simple idea, often a random flag, which I build into a proper series of maps based off people's comments and questions
I never got around to writing a full story for ComCom, but there's a few more bits in my gallery; the ComCom stuff feeds directly into the Golden Age timeline too, so this is perhaps one of my most extensive alt-historys

It's still Communist in this timeline, but it's not permitted membership of the Communist Commonwealth, due to human rights abuses and a general poor reputation... not that China didn't stick up for them it was just veteoed by other members.

Well Alaska was conquered from America in the First Arctic War, and is jointly administered by China and the USSR As for the others, I haven't written a full timeline for this world yet... generally the idea is that numerous countries suffered communist revolutions, with communism having a much better track record in East Germany and Russia, and the image of America and the allies suffering through a protracted and brutal land war in Japan (a result of lagging development of nuclear weapons). That's the general outline, anyways
heh.

I'm currently working off the idea that West Berlin was ceded to the DRG, and West Germany is controlled either from Hannover or Breman - perhaps Weimar, not quite sure yet
Thanks for the comment

Why not Bonn, like in reality? Hannover really isn't that big of a city. Frankfurt or Munich would make sense as well...

Neethis In reply to GrimSheeper [2009-12-17 13:38:47 +0000 UTC]
I've got no real reason behind it; perhaps put it down to fiercer fighting in the Rhineland, heavy damage to Bonn? West Germany of this time is far more decentralised than our own, especially with the union with Austria, with a lot more control delegated out to the various regions - Hannover is just where the national government was seated
