Description
My first finished piece for quite a while
It's part of an emerging project which I'm still developing, about a parrallel world which diverges over the first half of the 19th century. The Earth of the Gateways timeline is more advanced than our own, with widely developed colonies across the solar system by the dawn of the new millenium. This advancement is down to the development of the Gateway system itself; akin to the Stargates, Gateways have been built across Earth and on numerous other worlds in the solar system, allowing industry, commerce, and colonisation to flourish.
Not all the boundries and situation of this world are tied down just yet, but feel free to ask questions, as always, and I'll try to answer and build the world to the best of my abilities

I see that now there are USA, CSA and FCA That's certainly an interesting development.

Wow! These are one of the few maps on Deviantart that I actually love! The ones that look simple and recognizable, both in visuals and reference. I even love the scenario this is based on (the result of the aftermath of the U.S. civil war right?), and also what I found intresting was the German Alaska, like how did that happen? Besides that, I really like the concept behind this! I've made an ATL map similar to this scenario, only it's the result of the French winning the seven years war. From what map? I realize that you took the time to trace this all out in GIMP or what have you, I just can't find an adequate map of the western hemisphere to do my own outline.

I usually cobble together a few different historical maps off Wikicommons showing the borders that I want to use, or just do it by eye

At times the Prussians considered or where offered the chance of taking all of Denmark, but they didn't speak German. Plus the islands might have declared independence, been seized by the British, or rejoined Norway. How their are indepdnedt Carribean islands and how they consider those lands as "German" instead of Prussian suggests a few many changes in this timeline. Obviously. May I ask if the Germans have the Spanish, Danish, and British Virgin Islands?

Orinoco is the river that flows through the area, as well as the old name of the province when it was ruled by Spain. It gained it's independance from Britain in the early 19th century, before which it had been a dependant nation cut from Venezuela during a war which had initially broken out over the status of British Guyana, which Venezuela had laid a claim to

Why so? In the early days they did try to bargin with Spain for Cuba and a few other islands, but without success. They WERE more succesful in negotiations with Mexico, of course
