Description
First off, please forgive the large image and lots of writingThis is a map of my continuously growing ComCom timeline, set some years after the previous maps, showing the state of the world after the end of the Second Arctic War - find the maps of the world before it at:
[link]
[link]
The Second Arctic War was pretty much a decisive victory for the ComCom, but after this the world fell largely to stalemate, neither side willing to risk going any further and potentially unleashing the nuclear armaments of their enemies (nukes never having been looked on as a viable weapon or defence, but more as a revenge should conventional warfare cripple a nuclear armed nation). Instead, the competitive push went into the Second Space Race, with the Americans having won the race to land on the Moon back in 1965, and now there being a race to explore the rest of the solar system. I will shortly be trying to produce a solar system map to show the state of play another decade or two from this map, which is set in 2011
Comments and questions welcome as always. As stated before, this timeline currently has no historical precedent, instead being rather vague up until the early '90s with the outbreak of the First Arctic War - in other words, don't ask me too much about the backstory

What's the story behind Cuba becoming a part of LoAN?

Plain old simple conquered by America, I'm afraid After this point, it becomes a territory then a state of the USA ([link] ) until the USA's eventual dissolution.
Thanks for the fave on the ComCom flag, btw

This is something from what is called "alternate history" - the events involved never happened, but represent a "what if" scenario, things that could've come true had events transpired differently

Fascinating as always, my friend! To be completely honest, I used to make things like this before as well, if you know Swedish, than you can read about it here; [link] Also, you can see one of my alternate timeline maps!
Cheers!

Hah! Yeah, I figured as much. Also, I noticed I had forgotten to upload the darn picture to the blog. Nevertheless, it should be there now.

Doom
DOOM
DOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Although the solar system thing sounds cool.
And we don't really "leer" at Canada. It's more like a puzzled frown and asking, "Ain't you guys cold up there?"

Forgive?! What's there to forgive?! This is awesome! This is how all your maps should look like! This is great!
You said GIMP, right? That's the tool your using, right? I've got to get it now. If you can make things look this good with it, then I just can't pass it up.
Oh yeah, had that happened in the real world, I'd have fled to Canada. XD

Thanks well the base map with the borders comes from Wikipedia, but everything else is my own at least, heh.
lol, you're from Sweden, right? Canada plays host to the monarchy-in-exile of Britain at the moment A lot of Europeans managed to get out in time before the German and Russian tanks rolled in, and Communist Britain was gracious enough to not sink the evacuation ships heading for North America
heh

Heh, nice. Thank God we made it out of there. XD
Yup, I'm Swedish. But I've been thinking about moving to Canada when I get older, seems like a nice place. More of environmentalists and less nationalists than over here, seems the continent is teeming with them nowadays. Almost all my friends seem to speak about Canada like it's on Earth and it almost seems that way. I mean, I really like Sweden, but seems Canada better. Besides, they speak English there. ^^

I'd prefer Australia, myself - better economy, better laws, and you haven't got America leering over the border It's a bit dry though... then again, if the more liberal environmentalists get their way that could all be rather different

But Canada has Inuits!
I'd like Australia too if it weren't for all the poisonous snakes and spiders and whatnot they've got over there. Though I have thought about New Zealand, they say it looks pretty much like Norway, and it runs pretty much like it too and... they have Maoris! And Maoris are just cool. ^^
