Description Water Breath
(ATTACK MOVE)
-Novice Level
-Minor Damage
-Low Energy Cost
Description: A standard jet of water expelled from the dragon's maw. It has a short range, and is easy to use. Most water-element dragons learn this ability at a very young age.

Bubble Breath
(TACTICAL MOVE)
-Novice Level
-No Damage
-Low Energy Cost
Description: This non-damage dealing move fires a stream of bubbles that will serve to confuse and distract an opponent for a short period of time to allow the user to flee from battle, or move to a better attack position.

Vapor Mist
(TACTICAL MOVE)
-Novice Level
-No Damage
-Low Energy Cost
Description: The user summons a thick mist from the moisture in the air that serves as a smokescreen, and allows the user to flee from battle, or move to a better attack position.

Hydro Blast
(ATTACK MOVE)
-Novice Level
-Moderate Damage
-Minimal Energy Cost
Description: This move launches a powerful jet of water at an opponent. It has a knock-back rate of 10% and can only be used about three times simultaneously.

Water Expansion
(TACTICAL MOVE)
-Novice Level
-No Damage
-High Energy Cost
Description: This move is a bit difficult to learn, and very few are even able to use it. The user can create more water molecules, from just a single drop of water. This move is risky to use as it has a very high energy cost and will quickly drain the user.

Surf Wave
(ATTACK MOVE)
-Novice Level
-Moderate Damage
-Moderate Energy Cost
Description: This move can ONLY be used if the user is within 10 feet of a body of water. It draws forth the water from the surrounding basin and can summon a wave of water (not exceeding) 30 feet tall and it will quickly drain the user.

Air Bubbles
(TACTICAL MOVE)
-Adept Level
-No Damage
-Low Energy Cost
Description: This move can only be used underwater. It creates a vent of oxygen that will give the user an emergency breath of air while exploring underwater. It cannot be used past 300 feet deep in any body of water.

Aqua Cannon
(ATTACK MOVE)
-Adept Level
-High Damage
-High Energy Cost
Description: This move fires a very strong blast of water at an opponent and does high damage, but it has a bit of a recoil to it that will cause damage to the user as well. It has a 30% chance for critical hits, and a 42% knock-back rate.

Water Breathing
(TACTICAL MOVE)
-Apprentice Level
-No Damage
-No Energy Cost
Description: Once this move is learned, the user gains the ability to breath underwater at any time. However even though it allows the user to breath underwater, it does not offer depth protection. If the user swims down past 350 feet, they will start to implode because of the intense gravitational pressure at that depth. (NOTE: Sea Dragons are born with this ability automatically, and can reach the bottom of any body of water safely.)

Fathom Shield
(TACTICAL MOVE)
-Apprentice Level
-No Damage
-No Energy Cost
Description: Once this move is learned, the user gains a special adaptation to their genetic structure that will allow them to dive as deep as the bottom of the ocean. It is a constantly active technique that can be used at any time.

Marina Blades
ATTACK MOVE)
-Expert Level
-Great Damage
-Low Energy Cost
Description: When used, this move created blades of water on the users arms and tail that are as sharp as razor blades. This attack has a 70% critical hit rate, and will do extra damage if used on an opponent while underwater.

Hydro Tornado
(ATTACK MOVE)
-Expert Level
-Immense Damage
-Great Energy Cost
Description: When used, this move will summon a huge spiraling vortex of water. It is powerful enough to rip through the center of a battle and annihilate the earth and foliage of the area. The user will actually ride at the top of the vortex, and be able to somewhat steer it for about 5 seconds. This move doesn't last long, but does ALOT of damage.

Depth Charge
(ATTACK MOVE)
-Master Level
-Maximum Damage
-Immense Energy Cost
Description: This attack will perform differently when used above and below water. If used above water, it acts like a sonic attack and fires a very powerful wavelength of energy that can warp the ground around it and will shatter any glass within a 100 foot radius of the user. But when used underwater it can cause internal damage from the intensity of the sonic waves, and the range spans a massive 300 foot radius around the user. The echo of it is so loud that it can be heard from over 200 miles away. This move costs an immense deal of energy to use, and if done incorrectly it can actually cause the user's heart to explode.

***Aquatic Adaptation***
(TACTICAL MOVE)
-Guardian Level
-Increased Damage
-Minimal Energy Cost
Description: *In order for a dragon to learn this technique, they must first have learned all moves prior, and have trained with the Guardian of Water, Elder Marlin. This is the Mastery of the Water Element technique, and when used it will transform the user into a Pure Sea Dragon version of themself. They gain the ability to breath underwater, swim to the bottom of the ocean, and fight through riptides. It also grants the user more powerful attacks, and lowers the cost of energy for each technique. This ability is also able to be toggled, so the user can choose to use it, or remain as themselves.

Omg, I have been working on this little side project FOREVER NOW! I am breaking down ALL of the 10 elements in my universe, and explaining each one of the moves each element comes with, including the Mastery of the Element move. This first tree is "Water". I will be going in the cycles of the elements, so if you know the pattern of them, keep an eye out for your favorite elemental tree.

If you guys have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Enjoy!

How did you come up with the symbols for the trees?Β  I've seen them before, but I can't place them.Β  Unless I'm just plain stupid they're not Celtic or runic, are they?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neffertity In reply to SkySpiritDragon [2013-05-07 17:22:22 +0000 UTC]

The tree is just the arcane symbol for water. The higher up the tree, the higher the level required to learn the technique.

Well the symbol itself is greek I believe. But I've altered it slightly to make it look more arcane.

What do the forks in the tree mean?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neffertity In reply to TheLOAD [2013-05-07 01:02:02 +0000 UTC]

The tree itself is actually my arcane symbol for Water. The powers just follow the branches of the element, the higher up they are, the more powerful of a level they require to be used.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheLOAD In reply to Neffertity [2013-05-07 01:22:42 +0000 UTC]

But do you need to stick to one path or, say, if you learn Surf Wave can you still learn Air Bubbles?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neffertity In reply to TheLOAD [2013-05-07 01:37:19 +0000 UTC]

You can learn everything on this particular tree. If the power tree roots are connected, you can learn the move regardless. But if there are branches that are NOT connected to the same root, you must choose one or the other.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheLOAD In reply to Neffertity [2013-05-07 01:42:25 +0000 UTC]

So you would need to choose between Aqua Cannon or Water Breathing, right? I'm sorry if I'm missing something here.
