HAha Your frog looks really miffed! I wouldn't want to get on his bad side - he may bite
Nice art

hehe thanks Don't be jealous though! No reason - it's just practicing, and believe me, I'm not that good. Just take a photo that you like and -- ever use a grid system to draw? It's how I started out. I don't use it anymore but it's extremely useful to begin learning to 'see' what to draw.

thanks You're familiar with the original photo? It's not like it's a huge secret, his body of work is HUGE! Plus you're in the same field
His site was linked on conceptart.org months ago.

Thanks! Well, I used a very good photo as a ref and I kinda just made it look like it to the best of my ability -- I think the blur/macro effect goes great lengths to add to this idea of it being a photo hehe

Wow, he really ' pops' out of the screen; the blurry body really helps his face to stand out! Lots of personality. I really feel as if I could touch him, the reflections and textures are that well done.

Oh thanks! Haha I just mentioned the blur layer in another comment The cool thing is, I used a layer mask for the blur layer, and was able to "erase with black" the parts I wanted in focus. I had never used anything like that before in PS, was really fun

Oh yes, I know the technique you mean! Yes, it's worked well. Great job.

Such an unusual yet lifelike painting. I love his expression, the textures, and how good you made my favourite shade of green look against dark red.
