Description
This week's Character Creation assignment! Design two characters; one embodying your worst trait, and one embodying your best. I suppose you can probably guess that this is a worst-trait kinda sitch-ee-ation. I saw it as an opportunity to be a little uncomfortably honest and get this out there. I feel like the more thoroughly I bring this sort of thing into the light, the more thoroughly I put it to death. So here it is: Lust.Fun, huh?
I think it's important to say, for those who'll hear; through faith in Christ I have been given victory over this thing. As a result, I don't see this is a dirty or pessimistic piece (and I'm certainly not setting out to offend anyone)...I just thought I should be honest. It's a discussion (artistically) I've been wanting to have, since it has been one of the principal themes of my life. It's just important to me to call sin "sin".
And hey, look: hope!
That said, here's the character design! Hope you guys can appreciate it

Your not alone, I feel this is quite an interesting depiction. You really emphasized the title which certainly leaves it unavoidable.
I like it and hate it at the same time, I think it will stick with me for a very long time, it's just sort of disturbing that way. Which was probably what you were going for.

That's a pretty unusual subject for a guy to display negatively...but I do agree with the interpretation.
I love the design of this thing as well as the symbolism of an arm reaching out and many hands and eyes and references to Pan. And the coloring, especially the lights on the belly...it's amazing and capturing, all the little details made me stare at this picture for very long.

Interesting to see lust depicted as such a... well, frankly repulsive thing. While I sort of think of lust as being alluring (even if that allure is deceptive) it's nice to see a different perspective. I suppose this is what lust turns into after it's used it's vuluptuous-ness to lure you in...

It's refreshing to see a representation of lust that is not the typical voluptuos babe in horns and tail, or whatev. I really like the abundance of dark hues, they really accentuate the bright spots in the design, oh and bat + boar? Awesome. Excellent job, as well as the rest of your gallery.

This is so cool! The hand being all pinkish and human when nothing else is, it's really striking...and I love the addition of all the eyeballs and arms, and the satyr-style legs (a reference to Satyrs constantly chasing/lusting after Nymphs?)
Overall just a really effective piece, really gives you a bit of a shock. XD

Lust is never satisfied.
Excellent manifestation of the concept. I think of lust as having two faces, or two sides. . . one is the most alluring and seemingly harmless of desires, and the other is the true ugliness and devouring sense that you've captured quite well here.

That's really interesting...I am planning (if I ever rework this design) to work something similar into this. We'll see if I ever get to change it up. Believe it or not, I think he's going to appear in Alfonse & Domingo.

Haha! Wow, thanks! He liked it, I think...but I didn't floor him. He suggested I move all the real-estate from the head to the crotch and axe the arm...he always one-ups it! Ah well...I know what the next iteration of this character will look like!

This is a really strong piece! And you are really brave to be able to shove such a personal sin ( at least to me it feels like it) to the light. All glory to Jesus for being our strenght when we are weak, I wouldn't manage without Him

I really like the symbolism with the eyes- especially that you put them on the tongue as well as all over the face. I also like the look on its face; it really captures the 'wild hunger' (i guess) of lust. It's great that God has helped you master Lust, I know for most of us Christian males it is one of our greatest struggles (just look at an issue of Breakaway magazine

A very imaginative character design. I very much like that you used a hog as the creature's face. Reminds me of those condom commercials. lol I'd say the eyes around the jaw are what freak me out the most. The "lower arm" (heh) strikes me as interesting because when I was talking with one of my friends about what we thought a "Sin Character" would look like, I had the notion that a hand would extend from the groin. I don't see why she'd call me nuts when she thinks Gluttony would take bites out of himself...oh well. lol ^_^

man i know you're like young and a boy or whatever, but i have such a hard time imagining you as being lustful. i mean that as a compliment.. or a neutral statement? so anyway, that just makes this all the more interesting for knowing you. that aside, this is BADASS. i want to chain him to my house and feed him effigies made of meat. hahaha auuughh and that drooping-ass hand is so GRODY!! i love how tastefully explicit this is. damn.
