Description Made for the Apophysis 2.08 3D hack

This bubble type was taught to me by my friend, ccdigitalfx Further credit goes to penny5775 and also Platinus and Zueuk . It is my hope that this tutorial is able to help everyone interested to be able to understand a bit more of the intricacies of Xaos and bubble transforms.

Remember, make this fractal type your own and change things around! Play with weights, positions, number of transforms and everything else, and come up with something totally unique! Good luck, and I’d love to see what you come up with!

Points of interest:
If you want more of a “dome” effect, substitute Hemisphere for Bubble

When using Truchet, if the bubble isn’t covered, use more pre_blur!

Although not touched on in this tutorial, many of the plugins that can be used have very interesting variables to play around with, like truchet and hexes. Give it a try

Plugins that we have found work with this method (that we’ve found so far, there could be many more!):
Hexes
Crackle
Truchet
Checkers
Checks
Cylinder
Wedge
Pie
Rays2
Epispirial
Boarders
Flower
Separation
Hypersphere
Stripes
Rectangles
Tancos
Circle1
Taurus
Wings
Waves2

This tutorial was beta-tested by my friends karma4ya , Fiery-Fire and SuicideBySafetyPin before release.

All plugins can be found at the following location, due to phoenixkeyblack ’s dedication in tracking them all down: phoenixkeyblack.deviantart.com…

I tried my best to avoid only featuring my own fractals in here, to the point where I hunted down some help I hate hogging all the glory, lets spread it around!

The list of different fractals at the bottom is to give you an idea of what is possible using this method, and what different fractalists have been able to accomplish.

Links to the original artwork included in the Tutorial are listed below, give them some love!

It's a plugin called Hexes. You need to find it and install it in the Plugins folder where Apophysis is stored.

I love your work. I got hooked on fractals back when I had an Amiga. I would start one and go to bed. Sometimes they would be finished by morning. I am just getting back into computer grafx again. The doctors put me on disability so now I have time. I have Photoshop 7, I hope it works with modern software. I'm trying to learn Photoshop. Kind of a slow go on my part. Thank you for posting all these excellent examples of your skill at producing such beautiful and varied examples of your art.

I'm so glad that you found so much in my tutorials! I devoted so much time a few years ago and found my love for fractals and want to share it with everyone, so knowing someone got this much enjoyment out of my art makes it all worthwhile

Okay, stupid question, I'm sure, but I can't seem to find the "Hexes" variation. I'm rather new to Apo 3D, what should I do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nightmares06 In reply to Azbroolah [2011-01-13 05:36:11 +0000 UTC]

its a plugin, you add it to the plugin folder. Its called av_hexes when you're looking for it. There's a list at the end of the tut that has other variations that work for it if you can't find hexes.

plugins can be found here: [link]

Azbroolah In reply to nightmares06 [2011-01-13 05:45:34 +0000 UTC]

Also probably a stupid question, and sorry to bother you more, but I can't seem to find a Plugins folder... Where should I look?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nightmares06 In reply to Azbroolah [2011-01-13 05:48:53 +0000 UTC]

You make one, but I don't know what apo your running.
3D apo you name the file Plugins3D and put them in
7x or regular apo you name the file Plugins.

Some don't mix. Trial and error is the best way to find out which ones to keep.

Just put in maybe 10 at a time, or less

Many thanks for the tutorial! I learned quite a bit (my previous method of making fractals was pretty much "mutate, and do trial and error"), and, with only a couple of minor changes, was able to make this:
