Description My first 3D model!
I am pretty proud of this Not 100% happy with it, but very pleased for my first try! This model (or a new one that is better) will be rigged and animated eventually.

I'm really enjoying 3D modelling and you will likely see more! My goal is to create my comic characters as models and looking into 3D printing as well.

Not bad for a first! One pointer I can give when doing 3D is the use of ref's inside whatever you're using to model with. Take two square flat planes and set them in a + formation, find an image or draw one yourself of a side and top view of what you want to model and put them both in the same size square image, making sure the subject is scaled to be the same size on both, and put them flat images on the planes in your 3d editor. From there you can trace the image in a 3D world.
That's how I turned this

(only top and bottom as there own image)
into

that... (side plane hidden to view)
and then

into that.

Thanks for the suggestion! I appreciate it   I did use some refs in side and top perspective, but they weren't the best and I didn't have them in that nice + formation. I've learned how powerful the reference images can be when used correctly!

Indeed! I wish I could find the ref images I used. I had used youtube videos to freeze frame and take screenies of dolphins in that almost perfect "t-pose'

It's how I did my own dolphin. My only wish is that I knew how to rig XD
