Description

Here is the nineteenth drawing for Sonic's 30th Anniversary, which is coming next week by the way. This here is Metal Sonic, an evil doppelganger Badnik version of the blue hedgehog, Sonic, created by Dr. Eggman for the sole purpose of destroying him, who debuted in Sonic CD.

Metal Sonic was sent back in time to rewrite the past so Eggman (Robotnik as he was called in American territories back in the day) can rule the future. His second crime was kidnapping the bubbly Amy Rose, who had been following Sonic. Then, in Stardust Speedway, he challenged Sonic to a race to see who is the fastest. The two raced each other, with Robotnik chasing Sonic with a death laser. Sonic luckily won, making the door close and causing Metal Sonic to crash and fall off the platform.

Soon after, he was restored by Eggman and was sent to Mad Gear Zone to repair him. Once he was repaired, Metal had revenge on Sonic for defeating him. While travelling to Lost Labyrinth Zone, he found a gemstone, which was Dr. Eggman was looking for, and its mystic energies made Metal Sonic more powerful than ever. With this new power inside of him, he made his way out of the labyrinth and travelled all the way in pursuit of Sonic. He soon arrived at Splash Hill Zone, and found Tails' rocket (which was first used by Sonic in Episode 1) and saw Sonic flying off in the Tornado. Metal then electrified himself to scare off the animals and stole the rocket to give chase.

Metal Sonic confronted both Sonic and Tails in White Park Zone and tried to fight off Sonic using his newly discovered powers, but was defeated eventually. He would soon battle the duo in his own aircraft, the Metal Carrier, in Sky Fortress Zone. Unfortunately, like last time, he was defeated again by Sonic. He then flew off to the Death Egg mk.II, where here, Metal and Eggman in his Egg Mobile fight both Sonic and Tails in an attempt to stop them, but like the first two battles, he along with Eggman loses. Metal Sonic wouldn't have the chance to give up however, as he challenges Sonic to another race. Unfortunately, like their last race in Stardust Speedway, Sonic remained the winner, making Metal the loser.
