Your tutorials are all very helpful -- at long last an amazing artist unafraid of showing us his humanity.

ok how much time do you spend on a picture like this?
i always run outa of time or patience to do it in one day... then by the next day im sprung with a new idea that i have to start right away...
what im left with is a buncha unfinished works and works which started off good but were rushed at the end and look dodgey

heya, hmm usually i do any work over a period of few days, even simple stuff, my brain seem to always find ways to waste enuff time to spread my work time so that it fits into a few days lol. But it's more like a habit to get use to being patience with your artwork if you want to produce something good, take ur time, challenge yourself i guess heh. Anyways, tahnks for visiting!

Hey nJoo, thanks for sharing with us your progression while working! Very helpful tutorial indeed. But I've a question in mind that I wanna ask, if you don't mind.
For the linework, how long do you spend normally in cleaning them. And how much do you zoom in to clean them up? Thanks a great bunch!

This one's kinda easy, I don't clean up the lineart hehe, maybe just brightness and contrast a bit, but since I end up painting over the line, I usually don't bother cleaning the lines

Very helpful and informative tutorial, it really shows how the painting is built and gives lots of great information. If you don't mind a question; what did you use to achieve such natural bush-like textures? Was it a standard splatter brush or a custom one?
Thanks again for showing how you work. 5 stars!

hmm I actaully don't really use special brush, a lot of time it's just the circle brush, or the default photoshop brushes, I think the trick to make a piece look like natural paint is really just how you color the picture, the colors, the strokes, etc color mixing, etc. Might be a hard to explain but I might try to write a tutorial about it if I have time~

amazing work as always, the thing that really boggles me though is that you dont seem to have to tweak the colors through some filtering process at all. Everytime I do a painting, I constantly have to change the contrast or the color tone to make it work, It takes great skill to get it right on the first shot!

I actaully do a lot of color tweaking, less during the process, but at the beginning when i'm trying to lay down the colors in general i tweak it a lot before going any further, maybe less in these 2 tutorials i showed, but ya I do it too but I guess at the same time if u do it more u'll get the hang of it more
Also, I ALWAYS have to brighten the finish picture
