Description The Reverse Flash (first appearence - current) - The Flash (Syndicate)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Opposite Outcome, the rival of the fastest man alive, Edward Thawne has lived a twisted and perverse life. Born in Keystone in the mid 60s, Eddie became fascinated at an early age with the life of Jay Garrick, the former-hero-turned-celebrity in his home-town. Believing that Jay had become soft with age, Eddie deduced that what the Flash truly needed was a proper rival, someone to give him a challenge-of-sorts.

Though not a particularly athletic man, what Eddie lacked in physicality, he excelled in his intelligence and cunning. Aspite of his young age, the then-teenage Edward deviced an intricate plan, one in which him, by taking the identity of the Flash's Rival, he'd perform a series of murders relating to Jay's biggest adversaries, systematically assasinating them and leaving hints to his identity, leading to a climatic final battle for the Flash. A challenge of wits.
To Eddie's dismay, this final battle did not occurr as Jay Garrick would pass away due to heart-failure in 1985. The now-adult Eddie, angered at the prospect of not having gotten his confrontation against his so-called idol, became obsessed and, as a form to vent his frustrations, began killing as many people as he could by adopting his Rival identity, this ending after he was caught in the attempt of murdering Nora Allen in her household.

Given a life sentence in Iron Heights, Thawne lived a quiet life in confinment up until the re-emergence of the Scarlet Speedster, or rather, someone bearing his name. Believing it was time for the Rival to arise to the ocassion, Eddie orchestrated for a riot to start in the prison so that he'd have a distraction, allowing him to escape by way of one of Iron Heights' hidden tunnels. Now a man on the run, Eddie hid in his old childhood home and, by using one of his father's former science kits, recreated the concoction that allowed Jay Garrick to become his-times fastest man alive.

Succesfulling gaining the same powers as the Flash, Thawne began to study his new victim, eventually landing at a name. Wally West. Slowly but surely, Eddie crafted a new identity for himself, while still the Flash's rival, Thawne figured that he wasn't just another member of his rogues gallery, but rather the opposite of what the Flash is meant to be. A Reverse Flash, if you will.

Trivia and Tidbits:
  • Eddie has a vast knowledge on forensic science due to his own studies and brief stint as part of the KCPD's forensic lab as an intern.
  • As well, Edward's father Malcom had been a Forensic Scientist on his own right before his death, so that he had mounted a lab in the attic of his old home. This same lab was used by Edward later on to give himself superpowers.
  • To his own twisted joy, the new Flash is nephew of Barry Allen, the son of the woman he tried to murder all those years ago. While not his prime objective, Thawne has considered the possibility of going after the Allen's as a way to harm Wally.
  • Aspite of calling himself the Rival, the reverse of what the Flash stands for, in Edward's warped psyche he had always wanted to be The Flash. In his psychological profile, it's been postulated that perhaps his hatred towards Wally West may have started out of a sense of jealousy towards his achievements.
  • Edward's full name is Edward Clarence Thawne.
  • As a result of his experiment being a recreation of Jay Garrick's original accident, Edward is as limited as Garrick during his prime. Hence forth, Thawne has added extra padding and pieces of armor in parts of his costume for protection.
  • Thawne's method of leaving small hints in his murders was one of Edward Nashton's principal inspirations once he became the Riddler.

I still have yet to decide if Riddler is going to be just a brainiac or a killer. I may incline towards him being just a big brain who became afflicted with Thawne's methods and decided to "improve" on them.

But y'know, things can change.

Glad you do, I was kinda worried it would get convoluted.

Hopefully I gain the drive again to do more of the Syndicate, one day....

Either way, thanks man
