Description
One pose - 26 viewing angles. Download for fullsize.Note! These are for practicing purposes, not bases! I don't mind if you want to draw the exact same POV practice while using this as a reference, but I would be grateful if you avoid tracing these.
Here it is finally, Super POV Practice. POV stands for "Point of View". I've been thinking doing this kind of practice for quite some time already and now I got to do it. I spent many hours on this, as those watching my livestreams already know.
I didn't have any references with this. However, each time I got a sketch done, I had a new reference to look at. After few sketches I could start comparing the sketches in order to find inconsistencies and errors. I couldn't get rid of them all, but this gave me a lot of new understanding about drawing human figure from different viewing angles.
I shaded these with "global illumination" in mind. That said, the light source is fixed and not related to the viewing angle. Shading the below angles was really weird in this way
I was most comfortable at drawing the character from above. I believe that's because of my tendency to draw everything slightly from above. The middle row was quite straightforward to do, although there were some viewing angles that gave me quite a lot of trouble. The low row was clearly the most difficult. However, after struggling with few poses for a while, the rest of the poses suddenly came out quite easily. Did I just learn to perceive the below angles while doing this practice? I believe so. This practice was extremely useful for me and I recommend you to try doing this as well. The key is to use already drawn sketches as references to figure out how the character looks in other viewing angles. Drawing the middle row first is likely the easiest way to start with, then going with high angles and finally low angles. My tip: if you think it looks wonky, it's likely that it is wonky.
I numbered the viewing angles so that it's easier to point out the POVs easier. This isn't the order I drew the poses. When I had done all the angles, I realized that I had draw three extra angles and I was missing three angles. So I drew actually 29 viewing angles, but omitted the extra angles. I also had to redraw few of the angles from scratch due to terrible issues with foreshortening and proportions. I also drew those cubes in order to make it easier to visualize the viewing angle.
My favorite viewing angles are on the left hand side, especially angles 3, 4, 11, 12, 18 and 19.

Probably similar way as seen here fav.me/d6w07hd , though this drawing assumes that the viewer is above the ground level while in this practice the viewer is clearly underneath.

I've used Autodesk Revit Architecture a little and also Autodesk DWG Trueview to look CAD images, but I'm not really using them. The orientation cube derives from there though

Hehe! When it come 2 3D, I'm primarily a MAXer! I've learned some other things, such as animating in Maya an' usin' Mudbox, but I really shine in 3ds Max!

Awesome. Every time I get stuck on a body part or an angle I come here. Well, to my favorites category but your tutorials pretty much fill it.

Thanks!
Measurement? Like, how did I come up with the foreshortening? I just relied on my understanding about proportions and perspective, thinking like "the arm looks shorter in this angle, but its length remains the same regardless the angle" or "the distance of the hand from the butt varies from angle to angle, but it remains the same. So, I just tried to draw the body parts in a way that the proportions appear to be the same in each angle. It was hard and there are few misses there and there, but the results are quite good anyway.

Finally is here!
I love this, is even turned out better than how it seemed on LS XD
"I was most comfortable at drawing the character from above. I believe that's because of my tendency to draw everything slightly from above"
I think is because we humans have more occasion to look from above than from below. We look at cityscapes from high places. And i think the sun is involved in this (When there is a lot of sun I can't even look above the horizon line).
"My tip: if you think it looks wonky, it's likely that it is wonky"
I think is true. I always pay extra attention when I draw to make things look right, the limit are just my skills that are still quite low, but If i keep practicing without fear, i gain skills day by day.
Since I started to study perspective two month ago, when I practice on anatomy, I try to draw bones (I'm studying bones at the moment) from different angles. Sometimes I think 'what i am trying to do? I'm not good at this' but later I have to remember that is trying to do those things that can help me to improve.

Thanks
Yeah, but I found it interesting that drawing from above was easier than drawing from normal angle which we are most exposed to. Although I don't get to see people from above very often, I guess the fact that I usually see my anime figures from above might contribute to this..
Yeah, theory alone won't do, it takes time to fine tune the motoric skills of the hand-eye coordination. If I switch to my left hand, I just can't draw the way I do with right hand although I know how it should be done . The skill is primarily on my muscle memory.
Studying the bones is very beneficial, I've based my understanding on bones as well. However, instead of studying actual bones, I studied the structure and articulation of the human skeleton, then based the wireframe sketch on that.

I remember there was a period I was obsessed by bird's eye view, and I abused of it, until one of my teachers told me that not only often is unnecessary, but it makes the observer fell detached from the picture.
I think that bird's eye view is pleasant because you can see many things at once, with the picture still balanced (sorry for my English, sometimes I have difficult to put sentences in an acceptable way).
I study things in details because i fell the urge to know them. I have always the feeling that something is missed so I study in dept. I consider them useful because I learn and improve from them.
Many people are happy with their knowledge, and they believe more in experience and intuition (Some think my studies are useless, but they helped me in many occasions), while I believe more in active study (alongside with practice, of course), because I lack of intuition.
Once I learn the structure, I can simplify it and I don't have to think about the whole process every time.

I think I'll practice normal poses since I already fail Art them >_>
Drawing in a second POV makes me notice mistales though.
What I wanted to say is that what you've done is admirable and honestly-something I won't do for a long time~
