Description
SIDE NOTE: Please note that this tutorial is a few years old and my own art has improved a lot since then. I will eventually update this, or upload a new one completely. In the mean while, I do hope it helps!*edit* due to dA issues with showing the damn tut, i had to reupload it, no preview image. Sorry for inconvenience with that stupid downloading.

The long awaited anatomy tutorial is finished! I hope it helps people, I hope it's satisfactory... It took me forever to do it... oO; This is obviously not for anyone that knows a lot about anatomy already- it's a tutorial to help people that don't know much or need help improving. Please ignore any spelling mistakes... I'm sure they're there even though I did look it over a few times. I do indeed hope this helps people. It's hard to cram something as complex as human anatomy into a little tutorial like this, but at any rate, I still hope some people will find it useful, even if it's not exactly perfect....
Sorry if there's anything I failed to mention- like I said, there is just so much information, it's hard to fit it all in.
Thanks! Enjoy.
Edit: Sorry for the long loading time... >>;;;
EDIT: DISCLAIMER!!! I do not claim to know everything there is to know about anatomy nor do I claim to have a perfect knowledge. I KNOW this tutorial is flawed and is not a perfect shining example of EXACT proportionate anatomy. Please understand this tutorial is not designed to cause you to draw LIKE me- but give you a basic understanding of skeletal structure, muscle structure and how it all fits together. Find your own style and work off more than one source. I do not claim this is the only way you can learn anatomy. You should study from multiple sources, but this can be a good foundation to get you started in an UNDERSTANDING. Again, I do not claim to know all, so do not think that I am. Thank you.
comments and faves appreciated.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I gotta say though, you must have a lot of patience or generosity to write out all this info for us. Thanks.

You just took what was probably the hardest part about drawing and made it shatter before my eyes.

Every art school, teacher, master will teach you and practices themselves, sketching out the picture in order to get it mapped corrected, otherwise, the end result will look wonky because you haven't 'set it up' properly. These methods are used by professionals world wide, just so you know.
Sorry you don't find it useful anyhow, good luck with your art.

I'm just wondering, three heads for the shoulders, does it apply to both male and female or just male?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
odduckoasis In reply to xXNightRose14Xx [2011-01-30 00:55:34 +0000 UTC]
It is more directly related to the male, as the females shoulders are narrower and slope more than a male.

Hmm, I see.
Then how would you know how big to make the shoulders for a female? o.o

odduckoasis In reply to xXNightRose14Xx [2011-01-30 04:02:36 +0000 UTC]
I was trying to find the exact info for it and found this info which I thought was useful. It's different in what I've explained in my tut, but it helps with the shoulders in relation to the head and hips: [link]
Hope that helps. If anything, just remember women's shoulders slope more than mens and are more narrow than mens, while their hips are wider than mens as well.

haha, awesome. I was reading up on some things just to make sure if the info I had was right, and from one thing I did read, one said that the two heads (not counting the real head) width is for women and men are more like 2 1/2 or more (depending on how broad shouldered and big they are). So, I guess it really just depends on the figure you're drawing. But at this point in my drawing, I don't even think about shoulder width any more lol. I can see it and go "I don't think that's wide enough" or whatever. And yes, anatomy is very difficult and human anatomy is the most complex. But you'll get there, don't give up.
Keep studying, use photographs, magazines and all different references. You'll get there. ^.^

shoulders are really... I dunno... Stiff... They would be more slumped, but for the method, that does work well, it fits. It should just be mentioned
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
odduckoasis In reply to BoboSweet [2010-12-19 05:34:45 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that's true, with the way the muscles sit on the bones, it is more 'slumped' as you said.
What I really ought to do is just rewrite the thing xD;; I did make this a few years ago after all. lol.
