Width: 2425,3 m

Height: 653,3 m
Engine unit(s):
Sublight engine: Empal'tel Ellrupalka Katame
Hyperdrive: Empal'tel Ellpalpalna Katame
Hyperdrive system: interstellar/ intergalactic (if equipped with additional energy sources and with hyperdrive turbocharger)
Shield System: Empal'tel Artal Ar’Jaf

540x Emna Na'kekell ( Very Heavy Staff Turret), cal. 1400 mm

180x Ab’Bet Tyamka (Lances Cannon), cal 300 mm

90x Zat'tal'kekell Electric Beam Weapon (EBW)
Complement (maximum): pure transport mission, only one type of spacecraft (only internal hangars):
25000x Death Glider (four hundred and thirty squadrons) or

320x Qu'Tal'Kesh or Al’kesh (forty five squadrons)
Standard Complement: extremely variable, but a standard hangar equipment could be established in the IJN:

8600x Death Glider (four hundred and thirty squadrons) or

1600x Death Glider (eighty squadrons)

200x Te'Lac-Class frigate (ten squadrons)
Role:

multifunctional multi-purpose vessels, can be extremely adapted to the respective tactical and strategic situation, therefore only examples are possible here, for all the roles a Mah'arib-Class can fulfil:

flagship

mobile space-based fleet HQs

mobile garrison/outpost

carrier

tender/mobile dry dock

supply ship

hospital ship

high precision planetary bombardment

fighting enemy forces

protection of trade routes

performing special missions

support for allied units (space and planetary)

transport of planetary force vehicles

long-range artillery support for ground forces

etc.

Cargo Capacity: 132.925.986 m³ (maximum capacity when all hangars are used as cargo holds)

standard troop transport capacities: 12x Sha (Sha = Goa'uld: Army = 14000 warrior)

additional troop transport capacity: 36x Sha (maximum, although the Mah'arib-class could transport more troops)

Specificity:

  • largest, regular spaceship class of the Imperial Jaffa Navy

  • like the imperial Ha'taks, the Mah'arib-Class, unlike its republican counterparts, fully complies with modern standards for multifunctional multipurpose carrier ships

  • the Mah'arib-Class has four full hangar decks, unlike the Republican Sa'far-Class which has five individual hangars grouped around the core, each hangar having two decks

  • and also like the imperial Ha'tak, this class of ship is distinguished by the characteristic of the imperial design that the pyramid shape increases the size of the hangar decks from top to bottom (area size of the hangars from top to bottom:787.968 m², 1.012.683 m², 1.276.500 m²,1.576.875 m²)

  • The Mah'arib-Class has the largest hangar area of any multi-purpose hangar fleet carrier, with a total area of 4.654.026 m². (Nr.2 Union: 3.840.000 m², Nr. 3: Covenant 3.600.000 m², Nr. 4 Nation: 2.400.000 m²)

  • a very special feature of this class of ship are four additional, separate hangars in addition to the four main hangar decks in the ship's interior

  • this allows the Mah'arib-Class to completely convert the four main hangars for other purposes, (cargo transport, hospital ship, additional sensors, computers, etc., etc.), a capability basically possessed by all carrier ship classes.

  • but while all other fleet carrier classes must completely abandon their fighter squadrons in such a situation, the Mah'arib-Class still has a minimum contingent of 1600 death gliders, or eighty squadrons in these separate "outer hangars"

  • a very peculiar design element are the four main hangar doors that do not lead directly into a hangar

  • in fact, the lowest hangar deck is more than 30 decks above the main entrances

  • each entrance leads to a separate waiting hall, from where the waiting spaceships are distributed to the four hangar decks

  • this makes approaches and departures more complicated, especially in dangerous situations, than if the halls could be approached directly

  • however, this design has the advantage that traffic control can better control the arrivals and departures and the spacecraft can be better distributed among the hangars according to the respective hangar equipment.

  • and the Mah'arib-Class does not have metal hangar doors as is common with other carriers, including the Ha'taks, which can greatly increase the frequency of arrivals and departures in this area

  • the hangar doors are only closed by a simple deflector shield that protects against microasteroids

  • and that a minimum breathable atmosphere is maintained in the waiting halls in the event of an emergency.

  • the massively armoured waiting halls, on the other hand, not only serve to improve organisation, but also protect the ship's interior in the event of combat, should the massive shields of the Mah'arib-Class fail

  • and as with all ships of the Jaffa Empire, but also with the ships of the Jaffa Nation, the direct military operational aspect plays a greater role, while non-military operational aspects play a lesser role

  • to be precise, the Mah'arib-Class is specialised for use as a flagship, mobile fleet HQ and garrison/outpost, as far as one can speak of a modern fleet carrier being specialised

  • like the Sa'far class, this class of ship was originally developed to be able to command the growing number of ships in a fleet, especially on the battlefield

  • the multifunctionality of the fleet carriers is mainly used in the Mah'arib class to adapt these ships to the specific tactical, strategic and environmental* situation

*environmental situation means adaptation to the stellar environment: stellar nebulae, strongly radiating stars and other sources of disturbance that interfere with and limit sensors, communication, etc.

  • also, like the imperial Ha'tak, the Mah'arib-Class has multifunctional areas/ bays on the underside

  • these can be used for docking and transporting cargo and spaceships or used as dry docks (up to Ha'tak size)

  • the repair capacity of the Mah'arib-Class is much larger than that of the Sa'far-Class, but the Pendergast- and Vector-Classes have much higher capacities (as these classes were designed for this task, but their use as flagships is limited)

  • to facilitate work during repairs, the bays can be fitted with their own shields and equipped with a breathable atmosphere

  • the Mah'arib-Class thus combines, even more than the Sa'far-Class, roles that are filled in other factions by different ship and space station classes

  • for example, the IUSP uses the Asgard-class flagships, Henry Hayes-class spaceports, Henry Landry-class defence stations and the Richard P. Woolsey-class Border/Space Surveillance Stations for the same tasks as the Mah'arib-class

  • due to the enormous importance of these fleet carriers for the IJN, also in the case of defence, the Mah'arib-Class is the most heavily armed ship class of the fleet carrier type and can take on several battleships

  • in fact, only city ship type ships are more heavily armed, with the exception of the CLC's Bellunavis class battleships (nothing beats the firepower of an 80000 mm (!80 m!) caliber main gun).
