since the LDPD favors the use of destroyers and frigates, the Varro-Class, along with the USOC's Hammond class, is numerically the rarest class of this ship type

also, these two battleship classes are the most specialized classes of this type of ship

so, the Varro-Class, like the Hammond-Class, is a pure battleship and not a Carrier-Hybrid

as these ships do not have hangars, let alone complete hangar decks, their flexibility is severely limited compared to the usual Battleship-Carrier hybrids.

however, this is not a problem, as the Varro-Class is more or less exclusively used to fight other battleships and hunt fleet carriers, even its use as a flagship is rather rare

in order to nevertheless achieve a minimum of flexibility, the Varro class, in contrast to the Hammond class, has the "standardised universal connections" common to carrier hybrids, namely in all areas of the respective ship in which no specific components (propulsion, computer core, central life support) have to be permanently installed.

that is, spaces such as crew quarters, storerooms, but also the corridors on each deck, can be equipped with additional equipment

however, this possibility is only used in very rare and specific cases (e.g. when the SRF is deployed in the vicinity of interstellar nebulae, where additional sensor capacities are needed to compensate for disturbances).

otherwise, the Varro-Class, like all ships of the LDPD, are relatively weakly armed for the respective ship type, but extremely manoeuvrable and fast.

as a result, the LDPD unusually favours hit-and-run tactics for the battleships as well, i.e. tactics that in other space fleets tend to be reserved for small and smallest spacecraft, usually space fighters, corvettes and frigates, occasionally also destroyers, but never larger ships
