Description I am a very plain person, so never expect me to do crazy ass swoopy lines insofar as car design goes. Most of the concept drawings I see of cars as of late just outright upset me, so here is something more traditional.

No, it doesn't have 22" spinners, nor is it slammed to the ground so that the camber has to be at an over 10Β° tilt to let the wheels under the wheel wells.

I am designing a car that i would actually buy if i could make that happen.

I see a few cars mixed up in this one: Looks like a first gen Toyota Solara for the lower window line, almost Saturnish rear lights, but overall very traditional lines. That rear hatch splits vertically between the top part of the rear light on either side of the integrated spoiler.

Are there mistakes, of course yes. I didn't reference off any pic, I just plotted the perspective lines and drew what was on my mind. For the record though, i do start with the wheels and then build it from there. As i start colouring this one i will fix it as i go.

Process:

Rough: So i started with a just a piece of cheap ass printer paper and plotted some perspective lines. I was originally going to draw a sedan, but it turned into a coupe.

Pencil: I put it on my light box and traced it off with a super sharp 2H pencil.

Final lines: I want this one to be clean so i blew it up and traced it over with a 1 px brush. All those lines with exception of the wheels are with the line tool. Yes it took some time to do, Corel Photopaint 8 doesn't seem to have a good curve tool. One note witht he rims, I did draw only the top half and flip it and copy it for the front wheel slightly altering it.

This was alot of fun so far, now on to the colours.

Wow..!! I really admire anyone who can draw something beyond just people (hence, way beyond me ) and animals. Machines and buildings and *workable* objects are so complex and incredible, a true limit to the creativity of an artist. And your lines are so neat and precise...! I envy your talent a lot Hopefully, if I start practicing, I might be able to someday be half as good as you~

this is very nice man. its impressive enough to see your final lineart there... but i'm always extra impressed when you say you do it all with a line tool and some finesse. i'm a graphic designer and i use pentools in illustrator or photoshop to trace out clean digital lineart. does corel have anything like that? you'll find lots more possibilities w/ the lines you can make. but i have never used that program. but keep doing what your doing. its working great for you. keep it up.

Awesome! I love the sleek design and the angular taillamps. The rims and the integrated spoiler are hella nice, man. I would so buy that car if it were to actually be manufactured... oh hell yeah.

This drawing has a late 90's Opel feel to it. I really like the realism of the final lineart.

Swoopy lines on cars suck anyways. That right there looks like a nice entry level Jaguar or Aston Marton.

Very nice. I especially like the rear and taillamps. Never seen tailamps with anything close to that design before. Good stuff.

apriciate this so much, i mean car..? this vehicle is the most complicated tho looks easy to draw,

everyone knows car is the most difficult thing to draw..

I love cars! If you love a certain subject matter, it becomes easier to draw since you draw it often.

But yeah they are tricky to draw, especially if it is from your imagination.

Looks really neat and clean!
So You used 1px automatic line tools for the whole final product to make it look so clean?
Is that also the secret to creating high quality character lineart, or does that still have to take a few hours to look good?
Thank You!

I have to say that I appreciate your respect for the simple things when it comes to cars. I saw this and I thought it was beautiful. Cars dont need to be flashy and overstated, they need to be sleek and smooth, like a animal on the prowl. I would love to see more car designs from you, this is truly beautiful.

It's a shame you don't go more wild. IF the cars were ever to be build. I love downforce. That car looks like a nice car, but it isn't either fast or secure on turns. Maybe lowering the front and heightening the rear, adding a spoiler and working on the rear for added wing/drop effect. I don't know, I wish I drew like you
