FINALLY finished my latest sketchbook. Remember, the oldest are at the top, the newest at the bottom. And they're roughly scale to each other.1. I guess this is what it would look like should Mademoiselle Vigilante go Punisher. Also, I like drawing gun flares?
2. What could this possibly mean!? Time to wild mass guess! Maybe it means I sometimes draw the wrong clothes on a person. Maybe?
3. An underwater panther. Inspired by the Piasa Bird, which was probably an underwater panther until some dude was like, "Uh, no way, not cool enough, it had wings and a cave full of skulls". The evidence is pretty damning. But the bird itself has become something significant nonetheless.
4. So that's Eyvel (FE5) swimming underwater. Kind of a weird leap there. Maybe it has something to do with one of the (hilariously bad-translated) Seisen omakes I hoarded. There's one where Tialtyu asks Brigid if she could swim and ambush enemies because she used to be a pirate. "Then you can stab them with you Ichival!"
5. Trying to make up new Pokemon is a harder than I thought! Even when trying to fill in that "dolphin" niche the games are sorely lacking. Making up new kids for your faux generation is a pain too!
6. Maryland Goatman is an odd little cryptid/monster. Supposedly carries an ax to behead family dogs and harass makey-outy couples. My favorite is the one sitting with hearts.
7. I am probably the only person on deviantArt who draws Shego fighting?

9. FACT: Scanning Petrine caused my computer to go Blue Screen of Death on me for the first time ever! It could not handle the evil triad of Shego, Kaname, and a Rider of Daein. Her scowl and flicking of the cigarette, before it undid over an hour of work, inspired this drawing .
10. So in the Strawberry Panic! manga (don't look at meeeee) Shizuma has this hilariously sinister horse. Especially next to the brilliant white knight Amane. Especially when they're competing against each other.
11. Oh hey it's that guy I drew once for a gag whom people really liked!
12. So YEAH. This was a rather bad attempt at trying to draw some people from memory. It was a trip to California Adventure, and for some reason there were a lot of neat people there. An odd number of people in wheelchairs too, including a guy with biceps the size of oil drums and a girl who had her hair done up exactly like Aerith! Woo!
13. I thought she was a neat idea until I found Soul Eater. Nothing new about weapons that turn into people/vice versa. D'oh!
14. Why do I sabotage my own drawings!? Why do I love pinstripes!?
15. Drawn for Green-Haired Magical Girl's total lack of lip action. Wow, look at how long those forearms are. I mean, awww.
16. Some Bee Train girls! Mirielle, Madlax, and NADIE. Woo, gun twirl!
17. I figure Mademoiselle Vigilante deserves a second scan.
18. So I was trying for a bit to give unnamed Dark Magical Girl some clothes that were less stripperific, but they somehow don't seem to fit her character? That writing on the third one says "Looking like an evil Luchino".
19. These are not anyone from any existing games! Don't try to figure them out!
20. A different shark girl! You know, normally I have fun putting animal features on people, but it's really hard to make it apparent that they've got bonnethead sharkness without crossing into UNHOLY TERROR. Bonnethead sharks are a very small hammerhead species in case you're unfamiliar. They're adorable.
21. Oh hey, it's that girl from #8 on that meme, and this deviation ! That other girl is from the deviation too, the one holding a jacket, actually a surcoat! It's their uniform. Don't know if there's going to be a crest/coat of arms on the front still. Depends on if I can make a coat of arms.
22. And some of their armour-mechs/Titans. There's a lot more, but wow, I drew them rather messy.
23. I drew this when I wasn't feeling well! Can you tell? The giveaway is that I forgot to give myself a huge nose. And what's with the bras?

Drakken and Shego! <3 God, that show was amazing.
But I don't want this comment to go without mention of my newfound loooove for your sketches. D:> I'm glad I found you, and I can't believe I hadn't sooner. This stuff is amazing, especially your beasts and horses aughdf horses. I haven't had my inspiration nerve poked so hard in a long time.

1. I actually haven't heard of Punisher, but I am amused by a switch from a classy duelist-style old-school military uniform thing to full-armored over the top badassery. Aw man, gun flares look fun to draw just because of the giant string of rounds sticking out.
2. If I were to take a guess, I'd say...Good Dark Magical Girl? Light Dark Magical Girl?
3. Good lord. I honestly wouldn't have thought "panther" the first time I've seen it, but I'd never say it to it's face. Man, but for some reason I just love that tail. And the NOSE.
4.Lots of underwater stuff this round! I'd imagine swiming would be a difficult pose to pull, but you did it well! And talking about fanslated scans makes me suddenly reminded of that Death Note faux translation.
5.That Narwhal looks seriously badass though! And that dolphin thingy right next to it is really adorable! I'm sure with the proper crazy coloration, it can easily make for a great pokemon! Ah, but now that you mention it, I think making trainers would be hard; there's only so many combos of blouses and skirt/shorts and t-shirts/baggy pants.
6. I CONSIDER THIS THE FIRST THING I WOULD NOT WANT TO BEHEAD MY DOG AND THE THIRD WORST THING TO HARASS ME WHILE MAKING OUT.And the sitting down happy is definitely good, but I am also finding myself in love with the bouncing one-eyed apple what is wrong with me
7. The awesome Shego pose makes this sketch cool enough, but Draken right next to her with a "WE ARE SO GOING TO WIN MAN" smile with bignormous teeth on full display makes it TRUE ART.
8. HERE IS A NEW MYSTERY. Amane is hard to draw. Totally reasonable. Kaname is not so hard to draw. Fair enough. But this is all mucked up by the fact that they're OPPOSITE MORALITY CLONES of each other. Unless Kaname is not so easy to draw, in which case NO PL BAD NO CAKE FOR YOU.
9. But from our sorrow do we rise for the ashes and thus are reborn anew! NOT THAT IT CUSHIONS THE BLOW OF RUINING AN HOUR+ OF WORK. Besides, if it made the awesome comic, it was not in vain!
10. And it's deliciously innapropriate sinisterness is only added with your fantastic flare! I like how you made him more stocky. But here is even more reason to respect Strawberry Panic! Oh ho ho, but SP takes Le French up a notch when I looked up terms and discovered that "Le Claire Noir" was approximatly translated into "The Light Dark".
11. Oh man, I would have found it hilarious if a cute little happy toy-dog transmutated into a giant, muscled up manly man at the snap of ones fingers.
12. That sounds like it must have been really fun! Though I think it would be really, really hard to draw from real-life people totally from memory. I admire even wanting to give it a shot! Certainly sounds like there was a lot of inspiration. Of all things, I really like the guy's hair!
13. OH OH but I still think she looks really cool! With that cool hair and awesome shoes. What weapon was she originally supposed to be?
14. WELL MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE PINSTRIPES ARE AWESOME? And is that Just Dark? He looks anti-hero enough to be!

16. WOW all of these are really, really good! I was totally impressed by somehow pulling off Nadie's ridikulus hair (with an awesome gun twirl). But my favorite is Madlax, just because of the face.
17. YES. YES IT IS DEFINITELY CLASSY-DUELIST OLD-SCHOOL MILITARY UNIFORM. DEFINITELY. PROBABLY. I THINK. MAYBE.
18. I actually like the Evil Luchino one though! She looks really cool! But yeah, it's definitly hard to put on more clothes to someone who've you already designated a skimpy=EVIL outfit. NOT THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN IN THAT SITUATION. OF COURSE NOT.
19. I think they look pretty cool though! I really like the style of the chick with the curly hair in the background. I kinda wonder what her class would be.
20. But I can see that being an easy mistake to make, because EYES are always the hardest body part to do modifications of! for some reason, it takes one little flaw to make instant nightmare fuel for someone. I mean, even forgeting to put shading in certain spots will make it BUH CREEPY. Though I really like both her hair and her outfit though! The pattern is really, really cool!
21. I was gong to say OH COOL DETATCHED SLEAVES for a second, but they're just really long gloves. Which is no less cool! Oh man, I'd think a big ol' crest right at the front of your shirt would be really hard to maintain (but would make for a great graphic T-shirt).
22. Ooooh, this one looks really, really sinister all hunched over! It looks like a Titan that would be driven by the bad guys of the series.
23. Man, peeling your face off the floor is the best thing ever. AND WHY ARE BRAS SO HARD TO DRAW? NOT THAT I'VE EVER TRIED.
Random other things! I like the Magical Girl and Flying Serpant mini-sketch! The cackling orcha! The shadowy fox with a skull-head thing! The one lady that looks like a fighter pilot! The aligator-head man! The shower of angst! The dragon with the fantastic lower jaw! The dinosaur just skipping along! Echidna! Da widdle bunneh!
Tangent?
1. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ADELINE PUSHES BACK. Ah, never heard of the Punisher? He's a Marvel character, very 90s antihero (even though he's older than that). More dakka!
2. It'd help if they had names!
3. I think the "panther" part of underwater panther is used loosely! It's described as having horns and scales, but the body of a cat! The Piasa bird has a kind of humanish face, hence the (fun) nose.
4. Yeah, what the heck? XD I enjoy those so much, I wonder if I ought to just read the original source material...?
5. Not just tops and pants/skirts, but hats! I think the games themselves are scraping up what unused style they can make work. I just gave in and put a another cap on the boy there.
8. What makes Kaname (slightly) easier to draw is her eyes! Her eyes are evilly narrow and different from everyone else's. Though I did spend a page brushing up on her, Amane, and the WORST... Momomi.
10. I think I was thinking of friesians when I drew her horse? But most people think of them as the prettiest horse instead of FORBODE. WHAT. Really? The Light Dark? Actually, yeah, noir is definitely black/dark and I've heard "claire" in one of Tear's light spells. So what the hell, Shizuma?
11. I wouldn't call him a toy dog. More terrier sized. Somewhere between 20 and 40 lds.
13. A plain old sword! And it was like, even as a human, when her arms got all glowy/covered in flames she could cut things up like a sword. Because when I first watched Kim Possible I thought Shego's glow denoted "sharpness".
14. WOAH. YEAH. WOW.
16. I think the hardest thing about Nadie's hair is that there's just so many elements! Big wishbone shape, curls at the end, a random tuft off the side, a braid in front of an ear, a strand in front of the bangs... Madlax! I don't know if I drew her face or the gun first, even though she's commenting on my poor gun-drawing skills!
19. I think I spent a day just imagining a new Fire Emblem game. And forgot it entirely. I think that girl was supposed to be the cool big peg knight sis?
20. Probably because we focus on eyes when we look at a face, and their surrounding "WINDOW INTO THE SOUL" significance. But you can do some weird things, like clover-shaped pink-and-blue pupils. I could only manage some kinda teardrop/lemon-shape. Oh man, that's just because those short wetsuits always have neat patterns. I guess companies try to invoke dolphin and fish patterns.
22. D: I am not bold enough to pull off something crazy like that! YES. YES IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT. And it look obvious if I just used Photoshop shortcut madness...
Shadowy fox thing with a skull-head thing is a proposed look for psychopomps in Green-Haired Magical Girl's world. Since with the moon and possibly plots, the afterlife would be pretty important?

1. Beware the main characters, they can smell fear! Oh so he was one of the ones that got the whole "I'M THE GODDAMN ____" makeover? And as everyone knows, there's no kill like overkill.

3. WOW so it's a lizard-like aquatic animal with a cats body with elements of a giant birt with a human face. How can you keep so many spare parts straight?!
4. I'm not sure if I'm at liberty to recomend it, because I'm still in training with what you like in a series versus what you don't like in a series. What specifically about the series worries you? Though I heard that all the crushingness of the anime is only made WOOOOOOORSE in the manga, but I haven't read it, so I don't know.
5. I forgot about the hats! Which may add a slight bit more variety but ARGH. You make a good point! Plus Pokemon's not like Final Fantasy, yeh can't just take a bunch of whacko accessories and just throw them all over the place and hope you get an outfit from it!
8. Hey, yeah! I think she's the only character other than Rokujo who lacks the big ol' shineloaded anime eyes. Which is one of the wrenches Momomi likes to throw at the drawing process, correct?
10. Which is wierd, because stockier built horses like that always brought to mind the ones that would drive 19th century carriages forbodingly through rainstorms. While still being pretty! So DUAL PURPOSE AND DEEP SYMBOLISM. So we can't rely on SP! to teach us how to talk French either? Though admitedly, "Le Claire Noir" does sound like a pretty but dangerous name.
11. Still, a rambunctious looking furball turning into a giant macho ANGST BOI would still be pretty hilarious/bizarre/awesome.
13. Does the sword itself get all glowy and murderous, or is that a human-only feature? Even though it was accidental, that's an interesting way to display it. Plus as previously discussed, glowing=inherrent coolness.

Ah, and I didn't know she was commenting on gun drawing skills! Now I feel like a subconscious jerk!
19. That sounds like it was a lot of fun though! Oh, now that I look at it, she does have that kind of look to her face?
20. But then it brings up the whole question of what the line is between toying with the eyes and making it look endearing if a little off-kilter and where it runs straight into NIGHTMARE FUEL. Maybe so, but I'd think even just trying to imitate a patern like that would be really difficutl to pull off!
22. You mean detatched sleaves? Maybe something a little smaller and easier to sort of shortcut through? Maybe on a sleave?
Yeah, some crazy take on the afterlife would probably be good spice for GHMG's world! Psychopomps? Are those some sort of vengeful spirit-type things?

4. I usually don't like series that take themselves too seriously! BUT Death Note apparently goes so far that it comes back around and I hilarious? I ought to just read/watch a bit and find out.

10. Ah yes. That is good imagery. I guess Shizuma was going with whatever sounded pretty. OR it represents who own DUAL NATURE? With Amane embodying the "light" part!
13. It should, because who doesn't love glowing weapons. C'mon. It would carry over to the human form and be one of the few things they'd have in common to make the relation apparent.
16. BUH WHA? It's inherently hilarious, but what does it mean!? I looked up Euphemia's voice actor's credentials, and she did have a role in Cardcaptor Sakura! As the lead's stalker best friend? I know nothing about the series aside from a couple episodes macekred on the WB when I was a kid!

20. The line is hard to pin down, but it's really obvious once you cross! D: Eh! I'm around a lot of fish, the source material!
22. But that's a weird place to put it on a doublet in pseudo-medieval land. :I Maybe the just don't have the coat of arms, which would work if they have to assemble their uniforms on their own. Maybe the academy provides the surcoat.
"Psychopomp" is the term for a figure that transports the recently dead. The Grim Reaper is the most famous, and so are Charon and valkyries.

You have raised sketchbooks with commentary to a level of performance art. The seemingly normal commentary blithely ignoring bits of bizarreness that, in a sane world, could never be ignored. The levels of abstraction bring a tasty zing to the experience.

It starts off innocently enough, with the occasional "Vivian Kick", odd creature laughing ("hoo hoo hoo") and "whip crack!"
But then comes the one-eyed bouncing apple-monster, and the viewer realizes they are not in Kansas anymore.
This is followed by "Oh well, Oli Whale" and unexplained math.
It's a trippy journey.

Honestly, I couldn't write anything about all the strange critters even if I tried! They have no origin or purpose. Even as their creator I have no more insight into them than anyone else.

I love Bonnethead sharks, too! They're may favorite critter whenever I go to the Baltimore Aquarium.
And the Goatman is quite weird. I actually was in a pseudo-theatre company with a girl who was part of a group that runs a haunt with the Goatman as their theme.
Oh, and the gatorman beside image 12 reminds me of Leatherhead. ^^

I think he's pretty obscure here, too. At least, I had never heard of him until I went south a couple counties for college and met that girl. Maryland may be small, but it's regions seem to keep to themselves.
