Earth 2 of the Triexellion, recently bouncing back from the backlash of worlds merging, chaos ensuing...wars, and rumors of wars...but here there is also hope. Hope that humanity can rise above this seering torrent, and make advances....that Hope's name is Light.

President Yagami, recently elected, and favorite son of the the country he was born in and now hails from. I this world, Japan and the United States have been joined as a result of the schism, and have recently elected the foremost leader in bringing peace to the world , and against the reign of Kira, to the white house.

Only a pocket of opposition remains fighting, ...or alive, one of which being a girl named Naoto Shirogane(Of persona 4) possessing a lead that could blow the lid of Light's shining PR, revealing a dark negative to his bright image.

It's this reason she finds herself cuffed to a roof of the building congratulating his landslide win, with the Commander in Chief himself looking down at her.

"Brilliant work Ms. Shirogane..." he applauded as she woke up, the drug wearing off. He was in his white business suit, per usual, Japan's White Knight now America's shining King.

"Seeing through everything, I can only really think of one other person able to cut through all the red work...all the wires...and your hacking skills, annoying, admirable..."

She glared up at him, not having strength to move her jaw yet. "In all honesty..." he continued, "I wasn't sure what I was going to do when the schism happened. I was actually afraid like everyone else, that....what do you call it "note book of death?" If that even exists..." he mocked, "...surprisingly doesn't work in this world. So what was a fellow like me to do? Rise to the highest power in the land , now that everyone's stalk scared...and knowing the names of every dirty politician, and when they'll die? That goes a long way..it doesn't hurt being a genius either...."

"You like to hear yourself talk..." Naoto finally said. Light just smiled, "I'm told that by my opponents in the race, but the fact is, I'm just getting off on the fact that no one else is up here, and you have no recording devices on you, and those who could eves drop don't care what I do with you, so, I'm just taking it all in..."

Naoto:"So what now...I'm branded as an agent of Kira sent to take you down...gunned down by a security guard out for a smoke?"

Light smiled again, "Again, correct...you're good..." he took a pistol from behind him, "Unfortunately, I'm going to be the one to end you...nasty business, but the Nation-...sorry Nations, will like the idea of their brave Commander in Chief fighting his assailant for his gun and then tragically having the gun go off in his hand...with evidence to support it. America wins, Kira loses..."

He pointed the gun at her head, making her flinch "And all thing's being equal, sorry for having your friends all killed, but...let's face it, in war's there are collateral damages, and I'm going to win this one, it's in the stars....even without the Notebook..."

Naoto gazed down the barrel of the gun:"You still need it....you want it's power back....what's more you know how you're going to get it."

Light grinned, "Nations need allies, world's need friends, and two've merged already. When the process which hasn't stopped, makes a third world collide with ours,....or when or if one of these two fall away....the singularity will restore, and the Death Note will work again."

Naoto:"Figures, you went through the ropes and became president of the United States and Japan...JUST so you could get the power to kill millions of people back!"

Light cocked the hammer back, "The power of god you little speck. And really, what did you think would happen, that you'd beat me? Here? Where I'M the President, where I'm literally worshiped? Where me pulling this trigger won't bring a single person to mourn your futile attempts to bring down a god!"

-BANG!!!- the gun went off, but with a wrenching pain, his hand was pulled away before the shot went off, in a twist burning his elbow.

He looked to the right to see who this interloper was.

"Who th- " his face suddenly went paler then the moon, and his blood ran cold enough to chill beer. "N-no...." he said as his heart skipped a few additional beats.

"Y-you're dead!!!"

Naoto looked tot he side to see...dressed in black fatigues, with raven hair that shot back like a birds plume.....the Late Detective.... L. Lawliet.

"I promised you I'd watch you die Light..."he said coldly.
