This is a tribute piece for my dear friend Madame Giry. Please check out her art as it is both gorgeous and smart.In one of her earlier pieces, she depicted the venerable Madame in a wonderful color scheme of purples and green, which I have used in tribute as well.

I would hope that the purple would be a really rich dupioni silk against black tweed and wool with another kind of raw silk for the bias piping. Woo fabric choices!

It all depends on the weave. The current designer has sent some really coarse silk noile through the shop that looks badass.
You're right though, on the near, but not actual shininess.
