For many generations the Maple family ruled mankind justly and defended the planet from any and all threats. However, one challenge has proved too much for the royal family and the entire planet has been at war with an extraterrestrial Pokemon Force for nearly 20 years. Unfortunately, their troubles didn’t stop there as after an unknown event the king and queen are left dead. Leading to Norman's trusted Steward Giovanni to be placed on the throne. Remolding the police force into what becomes known as Team Rocket, a group with the intent to keep everyone within populations safe while the main military is off in the war. Team Rocket while appearing to be of noble intent and trusted in the public eye, unfortunately have their own twisted agenda and are as corrupt as one can be. Which none can see, seeing as how they control the message.
Unbeknownst to even the most trusted of Norman's council, Caroline had a daughter. And already of the mentality that public knowledge of an heir during such a catastrophic war could be quite dangerous, shortly before their death, they left May to be put under another family's Protection until the right time.
Ash and May always had a close friendship which eventually developed into a relationship. However, they could never manage to give one another the devotion they truly hoped for with May being prepped to one day return to her throne, and Ash's ambition to join Team Rocket.
One day after Ash had been in Team Rocket for several years and seeing first hand, just how horrible they can be, he began to suspect that the King and Queen's Passing was no mere accident, and by the time these suspicions reach May's ears, she deems she has to get to uncover the mystery of her Parent's Death and return to her throne quicker than anticipated...But how can she do so when no one knows who she is, Team Rocket controls the media, and the world is at war..?
