Description Oh dear. Wouldn't be surprised if both were to blame

We'll forgo the questions on just why they're trying to browse the web on a dirt patch in the middle of the countryside. No doubt it seemed like a great idea at the time. Still doesn't explain the fire...

Once again, we have ~McSadat to thank for the design of IE! Clicky:

Then why the hell does IE load faster than chrome side by side?
(PS, I click on chrome first, then IE. Still loads faster)

depends on your os. depends on what addons you are using. depends on if you are using Google's cloud or not.depends on if you are using a custom new tab or not. depends on what your home page is.

Consumer reports tested Firefox and Google Chrome And Internet Explorer side by side and showed that chrome was only slightly faster than the others with both ie and ff being only slightly slower at loading web pages and fire fox faster at loading images while chrome was better at loading videos and music faster and Internet Explorer loading flash faster. so honestly it all depends on what you want to do when using the internet. but over all chrom preformed best. but in my humble opinion the differences is not really even noticeable.

MrPATRIK In reply to Jrakob [2012-06-14 17:20:54 +0000 UTC]

Precisly, my system is fast enough that time differences measure in milliseconds; not noticable.

Then it comes down to reliability, I've had chrome and firefox crash more times, and not be able to handle as much stuff as IE. Plus, the browser bar is around a half inch smaller on IE than chrome.

So, like you said, its all a matter of preferance.

Except Opera, that truly sucks.

I don't like IE because it does not have the level of customization that I like.

What's that? google monitors my every action?

I say bring it on. better to have adds that are relevant to the things I like than random adds that I don't give one single iota of care for.

but but! you can use add blocker!

I don't trust add blocker and I also think web services that are free deserve fare treatment by the users. I see blocking adds on web sites as akin to giving the websites I love a proverbial middle finger. and unjustly I might add.

IE has addons too.

Yes I know but most of them are the same ones I can get with google. even than (not that I have actually looked) I bet
chrome has more.

And finally in the spirit of honesty I feel I should just come out and admit I am a Google fan boy.

MrPATRIK In reply to Jrakob [2012-07-02 22:09:36 +0000 UTC]

It all just comes down to preferences.

The only customization I need is nothing.

I disabled all addons, and I never pay any attention to adds. Never have, never will.

So in the end, IE does exactly what I want: something that displays the internet. The tool bar is only a half an inch wide on my screen, something chrome hasn't been able to do, sure it's only a quarter of an inch difference, but hey, thats 1/4 an inch less pony to enjoy. :/

Yeah, it'll extinguish itself and restart like nothing happened in 10 seconds flat, though, so there's that.

If you're going to surf the web, follow these simple steps!

- Use the laptop only on a hard, flat surface. Sheets and other fabrics can bunch up and smother fan vents.
- Clean your fans once a month. Wipe fan blades with isopropyl alcohol, and gently blow out dust with compressed air.
- Consider a laptop cooler with a fan to further improve airflow.
- Get a professional to install upgraded thermal paste.

And remember, Bronies, only you can prevent laptop fires!
