Description: Among Eurasia's largest carnivores, along with the polar bear and tiger, the brown bears are recognized as the most archetypal bears, because their species and genus both means , "bear." Similar to their North American cousins, grizzly bears(Ursus horribilis), which they had shoulder humps, larger heads with dished profiles, and long robust claws, used for digging and fighting, better than climbing. Male bears are called "boars," female bears are called "sows," young bears are called "pups," or "cubs," and a group of bears is called "sleuth" or "sloths." Brown bears are native to eastern Europe, north of Middle East, small parts of the Indian subcontinents, Central Asia, Japan, and almost all over Russia, but they are extinct in North Africa(which Atlas bears are the only bears who are native to Africa). Brown, grizzly, and polar bears are not only just close living relatives to each other, but they are close relatives to the Eurasian cave bear(Ursus splaea). We do see the bears in movies, TV series, anime, toys, games, and comics. For example of the famous teddy bear in cartoons like Winnie-The-Pooh, Baloo from the Jungle Book(which some adaptations depict that Baloo is a brown bear, others depict that he's sun, moon, black, or actually sloth bears.), etc. What about fairy tales, like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and children's books like "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?," and that depictions that brown bears are Finland's national animals, along with a national personifications in Russia. Not all brown bears are brownish with silver-tips, but some had differences in their colors, India's brown bears are reddish with silver tips(in the shoulder humps), while China's brown bears are bicolored with a yellow-brown or whitish cape across the chest, neck, and shoulders. What else? Brown bears are rarely blackish(not to be confused with black bears), and some are bluish, like the Tibetan blue bears. Predators and enemies of brown bears, besides other brown bears, are tigers, wolves, wolverines, snow leopards, leopards, golden eagles, even human poachers with their dogs. Bears usually avoid human conflicts, which we had to stay away from mother bear and her pups. Most brown bears are solitary, except for a sleuth that can feast on a salmon run, and a bond between mother and pups. Bear attacks on humans in Russia was extremely rare. Smallest subspecies of brown bear are Himalayan and Syrian, and the biggest are Ussuri, and Kamchatka brown bears. Not all brown bears are least concern, but some are vulnerable, others are endangered species, and even few of them are critically endangered species. Most bears can hibernate in the winter, including a pregnant sow who is going to give birth in her den, so she'll have one to six pups, during her hibernation in wintertime.
