Description: Sometimes, that coyotes are among the most misunderstood dogs in the Americas, along with foxes and wolves. They had similar misconception to hyenas, which people blamed them for other people when they are hurt, sick, which rumor has it. We should NEVER, EVER feed the coyotes, unless you are keeper, you can feed the captives some meat. People see the coyotes as pesty, treacherous, zombie-making, livestock killing scavengers. Oh no, we don't want the coyotes being moving targets, because they are very important parts of the ecosystem, which they can control the wild rodent population. European settlers consequentially allow coyotes to extend their ranges, since the discovery of the coyote, in 1800's. Not all coyotes live all over USA, some lived almost parts of Canada, and Central America. They have similar portrayals to foxes in European tales and folklores, along with the golden jackals in Middle Eastern and South Asian tales and folklores, and graeyback jackals of the African folklore and tales, which coyotes in America, seen as tricksters. Coyotes can prey upon larger prey, like bison, horses, deer, wild and domestic sheep for example. They can also had small prey, like lizards, amphibians(except for toads), rodents, rabbits, hares, jackrabbits, seals, and even black bear pups. European settlers who arrived in eastern USA, said that the coyotes are the small wolves that are braver than the Eurasian graey wolves(Canis lupus). American badgers can help the coyotes for sense of smell, while badgers digging up prey where coyotes found for them. The predators of the coyotes, besides humans and domestic dogs, are pumas, American graey wolves(Canis nubilus), grizzlies(Ursus horribillis), adult black bears(Ursus americanus), and even bobcats.
