Description: Old World's largest members of the dog family, along with large breeds of their domestic descendants. In the old Ice Age, as we humans tamed the wolves as the world's first tame animals for humans, as they are your domestic dogs' living ancestors(But the ancestry from wolves to domestic dogs is NOT mentioned in the Bible, it's against the strict Christians' religion!). Wild wolves feared humans as the ones who see them as pesty monstrous predators who preyed upon their livestock, this portrays the wolf as the warrior and the daemon. In fables and literature, we do see them as villains, like Big Bad Wolf(from Three Little Pigs, and Little Red Riding Hood for example), and the characters of Disney films as minor and major characters(the wolf from Disney's the Sword in the Stone, Sheriff of Nottingham the wolf from Disney's Robin Hood, wolves from 2 Disney films, Beauty and the Beast, and Frozen). Not all wolves are villainous bad guys we misunderstood the wolves as, some wolves are honorable, like the wolves who saved Mowgli from Shere Khan the tiger and Tabaqui the jackal(in some adaptations, Tabaqui is depicted as a hyena), from Kipling's series of The Jungle Book. Do you may think that wolves howl at the moon, eh? The short version is, wolves don't howl at the moon, but they do howl for say "HELLO!" to the others, to defend their territory, or to use the signal to help the pack mates do the hunting. First of the truth, wolves can't kill you, unless they'll defend the territory and/or their puppies, even for a healthy wolf. However, a wolf whose sick from rabies can kill you, so? STAY THE HAY AWAY FROM SICK WOLVES, unless we'll stop them for our self defense. Some of us may see wolves had a reputations as savage and fearful killers, thanks to stories, novels, and movies featured wolves as villains, this may included that half-human, half-wolf whose a monster, the werewolf. The truth is, not all wolves are mean, some are very nice and shy, they lived and hunted in packs. A pack was consisted of up to a dozens of adult and elder wolves of both sexes, few of their puppies, all lead by mating pair of alphas. The two alphas of the pack is more like both king and queen. Not all wolves are grayish, some are colored in tan, blonde, red, black, or almost white. The competitors of the Eurasian graey wolves, are brown, moon, and polar bears, other wolves, golden jackals, red foxes, leopards, cheetahs, dholes, and striped hyenas. In the Ice Age of Europe, there's more competitors, are spotted hyenas, cave bears, giant cheetahs, and even saber-tooth cabbits. Predators, besides humans, are tigers, and rarely lions. Not only the Eurasian graey wolf is close relative to American gray, red, and eastern wolves, and coyotes, but they are close relatives to your domestic dogs and even dingoes.
