Scientific Name: Canis anthus(formally Canis aureus)
Size: 25-60cm tall in the shoulders, 40-90cm from snout to tail-base + 20-55cm = 60-145cm from snout to tail

Diet: Omnivorous; diet consisted of rodents, lagomorphs, snakes, lizards, ground birds, eggs, carrion, insects, warthogs, gazelle fawns, wildebeest calves
Description: It was similar to its Eurasian cousin and counterparts, but its ears, tail, snout, and legs are longer than the Eurasian golden jackals. They also had one band on any in front. One large subspecies of C.anthus was classified as an African subspecies of graey wolf(Canis lupus lupaster), as the largest African subspecies of the Eurasian golden jackal(Canis aureus lupaster), its own genus(as Canis lupaster), now it is classified as one of the largest African golden wolves(Canis anthus lupaster). African golden wolves are native to western, eastern, and even the northern parts of Africa, along with the Sahara Desert. Their competitors are graeybacked jackals(Lupulella mesomelas), spotted(Crocuta crocuta) and striped hyenas(Hyaena hyaena), and threateningly Ethiopian wolves(Canis simensis) and African Dholes(Lycaon pictus). They compete for their kills. Spotted hyenas had been reportedly eating one golden wolf. We've seen these wolves for the Egyptian folklore for the demi-god like the mythical Anubis for example.
