Description: One of the best known wild small animals, popular in Easter, much like an Easter Bunny, and one the animals in fairy-tail stories, and one of the first animals appeared on the first Chinese New Year in 1939, which it was "The year of the Rabbit." And it is the rabbit. Before they are domesticated as pets, the European rabbits are introduced to the Great Britian by the Normans, during the 12th century AD. This animal had a hopping gait, long mobile ears, short bobbed and fluffy tail, endured this species to children and adults alike, and said domesticated rabbits become one of the popular pets. Rabbits are highly social, living in middle sized groups called, the warrens. They were crepuscular, active at dawn and dusk, but they're not seen active in the day. Rabbits looked a lot like rodents and hyraxes(though hyraxes are close relatives to elephants, than rodents and lagomorphs), but the rabbits are in their own family with pikas, a family tree consisted of rabbits, jackrabbits, and pikas, are called "Lagomorphs." Male and female rabbits are really good at fighting off predators. Females tend to be more territorial than males, but although areas are frequented by females that are not defended. Male rabbits are called bucks, females are called does, and baby rabbits are called kittens. Male rabbits are aggressive in the wild, which they can fight other males over females, which a competition between males leads to severe injury or death. Females gave birth to from 2 to 12 kittens. The rabbit's reproductive abilities are the inspiration of the phrase that says, "breeding like rabbits." Predators of rabbits, are birds-of-prey, foxes, weasels, ferrets, badgers, and cats.
