This antelope had a special dental arrangement in the front lower jaw, similar to the toothcomb of the lemurs. It will help the impala clean, to get rid of the parasites.  Males have lyre-shaped horns, sporting up for ramming. The male impalas are called "rams," though the dominant ram left the herd, in order to challenge his rival. The prize at stake, was the mating rights to the ewes of the herd. His horns might help him throw the rival off away from him, and it is also help the protection of his skull.  There were 3 distinct types of groups; are the territorial males, bachelor herds, and female herds. Predators of the impala, are lions, leopards, and cheetahs for example.
