Description: Second only to the killer whale, the leopard seal is among Antarctica's alpha predators. Like its terrestrial namesake, the leopard(Panthera pardus), it is a deadly predator with a sinuous body with powerful jaws that can open widely to reveal exceptional canine teeth. Its head was reptile-like, while the neck is long and flexible, allow the killer seal to pull the head backwards before striking prey, like a viper snake. Like spotted hyenas, by sex differences in their sizes, males are slightly smaller than females. Most leopard seals are highly solitary, except for a mating pair, and a bond between mother and the couple of her pups. They are cumbersome on land, but they can hunt on water, in order to prey upon penguins and even other seals(e.g. fur and elephant seal pups), within a deadly stealth underwater. More often than not, leopard seals had taking more warm-blooded prey than most pinnipeds, but they are extremely dangerous towards humans, which the leopard seal attacks on humans are really rare. Not only that leopard seals had spots, like that of leopards.
