Scientific Name: Macaca mulatta
Size: 45-65cm from head to tail-base + 20-30cm tail = 65-95cm from head to tail. 50-65cm tall in the shoulders and hips
Classification: Primate
Habitat: Savannas, Jungles, Deserts
Diet: Herbivorous and insectivorous, diet consisted of fruits, seeds, roots, barks, buds, cereal, termites, ants, beetles, grasshoppers
Description: One of the best known Old World monkeys, as the Rhesus monkeys lived in big troops of 20-200 males and females, make them known to be even popular, to become the Jungle Book's Bandar-Log. This monkey was diurnal, arboreal, and terrestrial, and very social. Which they are known to be the distant relatives to apes, despite their tailess cousins that lived North Africa, the Barbary Monkey(Macaca sylvanus, this species is also known as the Barbary Ape, Magot, or Barbary Macaque), due to the fact that the prehistoric species of macaque evolved to the first gibbon. In the psychological research, the monkeys have demonstrate a variety of complex abilities, including the ability to make same-different judgments, understand simple rules, and monitor their own mental states.
