Description
Most of the work in my galery is sad, sullen or serious, so it was nice to draw a picture of someone smilling for a change
The reference for this piece came from an exceptionally tallented and famous photographer James Houston, known for photographing celebritys, fashion and advertisments - check out his website here houstonphoto.com/
The drawing took forever, I think I would cry if I counted up all the hours, but i will take a guess at 40+, a largish drawing measuring 45cm X 35 cm on Bristol Board smooth. Drawn with range of Faber-Castell 9000 pencils from 4H through to 8B - a whole 8B in fact, Tomo Mono Zero eraser and a blending stick.

So stunning! I LOVE this ! Up there with the absolute best ever. I'm struggling to fit in any drawing time at all... How on earth do you fit in 40+ hours with busy work life too?

It is difficult - but I spend every hour at weekends just drawing - I would normally fit in 20 hours each week and as I normally have several on the go at the same time they can take months to actually finish! Glad you like it by the way
