No, not an IDW cover this time. This is a special piece for the 100th issue of G-FAN Magazine (yes, I broke my "no fanzine" policy again- my bud Matt Frank asked and it was the 100th issue- sue me). Check out G-FAN here: [link]
The idea for this has been kicking around for a while, ever since I saw a gag on Facebook where someone took the poster art for GODZILLA VS. THE THING (which features G fighting off a mass of green tentacles- which is odd, b/c his enemy in the actual movie was Mothra) and replaced the title with "GODZILLA VS. CTHULHU". So that got me thinking how that might actually look if done "properly"- so here's 'Zilla throwing down with everybody's favorite Great Old One off the coast of Innsmouth.
I like to think the guy on the cliff is played by Jeffrey Combs. One guess what book he's holding.

Godzilla, you know why, cuz Cthulhu has never been in a fight or maybe he hasn't been in a fight in a while, I mean he was one of the old ones, and they discovered dark magic and used it against their superiors, and a war started, I guess that counts as a fight, but it was the only fight Big C might've been in, but it was like eons ago, and Godzilla has been in a bunch of fights and he's younger than Cthulhu, making him a lot more faster and stronger than the other, so Godzilla has the advantage, hell I even think Mothra would defeat Cthulhu, even her evil twin brother would beat Cthulhu, oh man, I hope someone can make a fanfic about this topic of a Japanese icon fighting a character of a horror story series created by a mad man, that would be awesome.

Time and space don't count with Cthulhu. Eons or minutes are the same for him. Cthulhu is a danger only by his existence. Can't imagine what could be the results of him going into battle. Man, Big C can "destroy" minds only by whispering.

Cthulhu travels through different demension's and destroys planets with no problem. Godzilla gets butt hurt trying to stomp on a moth, and has trouble destroying Tokyo. Nuff said

and Godzilla tanked a city busting nuke and did not even flinch, the only reason Godzilla loses to mothra is she usually gets help,
not to mention one of his cells flew into space, flew into a black hole, came out a white hole, and was bombarded by super novas and was completely un-harmed, all that did was made it stronger and formed space Godzilla (who has that much power)
if u want to talk planet busting i know a few kaiju that are easily planet busting, in the Godzilla universe
not to mention burning Godzilla
and if u want i can put a non-canon form of the franchise super Godzilla

Welp damn dude calm down. I made a mistake, perhaps jumping into arguments with people was stupid of me without having evidence on me. So far in some fan fiction they say he can manipulate reality hell even Trey parker and Matt stone gave Cthulhu some super natural abilities that lovecraft himself didn't give him.
