IT’S THE FATED MEETING. Sorta…

I think the hardest part of dealing with this part of the chapter was making Nelly actually seem as massive as she’s gotta be for Lysidia - a whole grown woman - to ride her. I can get really anal about these sorts of details but if there’s anything my job’s taught me it’s that sometimes you just gotta allude to things looking right and roll onto the next task….in other words “Nelly’s not gonna always be properly sized in all panels and that is A okay” me @ me LOL

I have such a fun time with Lysidia and Nelly riffing because I just wanna make it absolutely clear that these girls are ooolld friends/ sisters, even. Funnily enough, apart of the rewrite was actually cutting down on how much they riff with each other. I think it comes across with the prince scene well enough haha

Oh, speaking of the prince scene! If it seems a bit obtuse, that’s…actually purposeful lol I wanted it to come across like one of those inside jokes you hear someone make and laugh about. You don’t know what the hell they’re on about, but they sure are having a good time.

Ohhhh man I don’t know how much I want to explain here and how much I should just leave to you guys, but i’m very proud of the…let’s say… conversational contrast I feel I was able to capture with Lysidia & Nelly vs Asadi & Sammy.

Damn feels like there’s alot on this page to talk about actually. So…about the fact that Asadi just…upped and left Littleroot without quitting her job. SEEE, THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. Being anal about so many details. I could’ve just as easily chalked that up to the comic being written when I wasn’t as good at executing stories but nooooo lolol Actually, I started planting the seeds for this mini confrontation scene on this page when I went back and specified the amount of time Asadi had off for vacation back in 2019 when I did those director’s cuts. So it’s been on my spirit for a while ^u^” Oh, and that was also the thing Lysidia was going to mention on the phone at the end of ch 16 but, well, let’s just say she knew how Asadi would react. There’s really no good time to mention that news huh ;;u;;
