Description

A fighter-bomber and an air superiority fighter within the 11th Legion, the Primaris Lightning Strike Fighter is smaller and more agile than the iconic Xiphon pattern Interceptor.

History

Primaris-Lightning Strike Fighter was developed near the end of the Great Crusade by the Archmagos-Arbiter Sykosk Thule, master of the sovereign Forge World of Voss. With its forced-plasma ramjet drive and optimized for the most sophisticated munitions, the aircraft represented a new paradigm in aerial warfare for the Imperium of Man.

However, this revolutionary fighter plane proved to be resource-intensive to build and could only be handled by the most experienced pilots. For this reason, the Primaris-Lightning Strike Fighter was only found in the armories of the Space Marine Legions.

It has been rumored that the Forge world of Cypra Mundi is developing a simplified version of the Lightning Strike Fighter for the Imperial Military.

Armament

The Primaris-Lightning Strike Fighter is a heavily armed strike fighter and was specifically designed to make use of some of the most advanced and savage munitions in the arsenal of the Imperium during the later Great Crusade era. It is normally equipped with a potent armament of twin-linked Lascannons and six Hellstrike Missiles or Rad Missiles.
