Description
The Scarab Tactical Operational Missile Complex is a short-range, road-mobile, ballistic missile designed for battlefield deployment. It was designed by the 11th Legion to replace their earlier Luna series of unguided artillery rockets. The Scarab Missile Complex provided the Legion’s Grand Companies with artillery support like its predecessor. The Legion used the missile for precision strikes on enemy tactical targets, like control posts, bridges, storage facilities, troop concentrations, and airfields.
Scarab units are managed in a brigade structure. There are 18 launchers in a brigade; each launcher is provided with two or three missiles. The vehicle is amphibious, with a maximum road speed of 60 km/h (37 mph) and 8 km/h (5.0 mph) in water. It is NBC-protected.
Over its 90 years in service with the 11th Legion, the Scarab’s range and accuracy have increased from a maximum range of 70 km (43 mi) and a circular error probable (CEP) of 150 m (490 ft) to a rage of 185 km (115 mi) and a CEP of less than 70 m (229 ft).
