What are these elaborate jaw structures for? What does it eat?

I have no idea, I just said "screw functionality" and scribbled this down XD the appendages could be either palps, for sense of touch and smell, or devices of death with a cnidarian-like array of stinging cells to paralyse prey, maybe this creature is large but fragile, and it needs this as the only way to get enough callories to sustain flight
