is exactly how I felt when I saw this scene and I also cannot think of a great title. I think it fits though. Those bison really completed the scene and gave me one of those "Wow I'm really seeing this in person" moments.Shot from Mormon row, Grand Tetons

beautiful picture of the barns! i just read your journal, and i was in the tetons the same days you were - the 26th and 27th, crazy huh!? i was up at the barns at 5am to get the golden hour pictures!

We were at the Tetons the 25th and decided to leave for home later that night. I wish we would have spent more time there, but a good reason to go back.

nice ! and they say the maroon bells are the most photograph mountains in the USA ???
nothing beats this view - anywhere in the hole.
my 3 fav places in the hole are schwabacher landing, the snake river overlook and the south moulton barn.

Thanks! I think with the Tetons you need decent to amazing light to get a good image. I made stops only to Mormon row and the snake river overlook. I wish we would have stopped at schwabacher's landing and oxbow bend. The Tetons are just extremely photogenic

yeah your right - either it's in full sun - no clouds or overcast. you have to spend some time there and hopefully luck out. when i lived in casper, wyoming i use to go up that way at least 6 to 8 x's a year - winter is amazing !
IMO sunrise at schwabacher is way better the mormon row (anytime of the year) - i like the row a little later in the A.M. - the row is way better during summer, but as the season ends and that sun starts to make it's southward journey those trees that are kinda on the south-side of the barn cast a horrible shadow at sunrise (?)
as for the oxbow - i'd rather be there at peak fall color.
there us to be a way cool gate (wooden rail type) at the south moulton barn, but right after the park service acquired the property they put a new fence line in and took out the gate - it was real sweeet - added a nice foreground element. i have a pic of it on my flickr page - scanned from an old slide.

I guess we lucked out because it turned out to be an overcast day. I always want clouds in the sky. I would like to visit each spot in every season to get a sense of what changes and how drastic a scene can look. I need to go back soon
