Crazy. Do you know why?

XmMaster In reply to PeterRollar [2013-09-09 20:51:27 +0000 UTC]
cause no body care about it 99% use xp with an expired 2009 antivirus and the same old programs
no body here will care about upgrade,
only 1% who use 7 and vista and 8

XP still does almost all you need. So there is not really a need to upgrade. I still mostly use it too.

Hmmm... Still a mix between a tablet OS & a Desktop Computer OS. Not for me. :/
What are the differences between this and W8 ?Β

The metro control panel looks much better and is much more complete. It has new apps, a start button, screenshot sharing from charms bar, more tiles customization, skydrive full integration, animated startscreen backgrounds, boot to desktop, use the desktop background as start screen background, slide to shutdown,...

There are not much visual differences. Changed some colors and some details. But it is easier to use. Seems they focused on usability.

It's definitely a nice update. I only use it in a VM for now, and I don't know how long I'll wait until I update my host OS to 6.1 - maybe when there's a UX Style patch and some themes I like are updated for 8.1.Β

PeterRollar In reply to LordReserei [2013-08-31 15:13:17 +0000 UTC]
This isΒ also only a VM. I definetely like it more than Windows8. Seems to have a better performance and is easier to use.
I use the theme patcher by Manuel Hoefs, It supports 8.1 and is safe.

Nice, I'll check that theme patcher out. I've been currently using UXStyle which doesn't support 8.1.Β

You can trust Manuels work. He is a studied software engineer. Worked with him on Vistamizer/Sevenmizer in earlier times.

the biggest bug is when you close a metro app ,if you look in the task manager you will find that the app stillΒ Running ,it take at least a 1 minute to close
Microsoft Instead of make things easy they make it harder ,why they just not add a close button on the charmbar for the metro apps
but what i like is the performance speed , and this internet explorer 11 i find it fast than google chrome after testing
and the metro UI still hard for desktop and laptops but more easier than windows 8 Metro ui.
i think Microsoft should be careful next time, because that will coast them Β a lot of money.

actually i don't care about this bug because i uninstall all the metro apps and i restore the old classic UI with the old good start menu
π: 0 β©: 1
PeterRollar In reply to XmMaster [2013-08-31 19:56:01 +0000 UTC]
Why uninstalling the metro apps? Simply activate boot to desktop and ignore the metro stuff. So you can use the startscreen if you are in need of it.

XmMaster In reply to PeterRollar [2013-08-31 20:44:22 +0000 UTC]
because the metro UI Programs slow down the performance i need to do everything possible to speed up,because my Laptop is so old

Have you checked out the back ol' start menu?
π: 0 β©: 2
PeterRollar In reply to SatouKenta [2013-08-31 15:34:38 +0000 UTC]
There is no startmenu. You can rightclick the orb to get some options, that's all. With leftclick you can swich between desktop and startscreen.

ntim007 In reply to SatouKenta [2013-08-31 09:51:49 +0000 UTC]
It's just a start button that goes to the start screen.

PeterRollar In reply to zydrius32 [2013-08-31 20:22:20 +0000 UTC]
Me too, because Vistart can't remove it. While using Vistart you have two orbs. You can make the one of Vistart invisible, but it isn't at the correct place than.

That sounds like a VM problem, not Windows 8. Try it on a physical machine.
