You want a perfect clear taskbar with blur without WindowBlinds?

Okay. Let's get started.
Select a wallpaper of your choice with the correct aspect ratio. Don't use widescreen wallpapers on normal monitors.Or crop them to get the correct ratio.
Than downscale the wall to a width of 898 pix, in this case.Depends on which VS you are using.
How to find out the correct width? Go to your Windows folder and look for a folder called resources. There you will find the Visual styles stored on your computer. Look for the name of your VS. Open the included reshacker and set the options to show all files. If you don't do this, you will not be able to find a file called msstyle. Navigate with reshacker to your msstyle, open it and look for a fle called taskbarbackground. Save this to your desktop. Now you can check how big it is.This is the size you need to use.
Cut off 40 pixels height of the bottom part of your downscaled wallpaper. After that cut off 10 pixels of the bottom part of this new bmp. You can also do this in one step, but it is easier to understand that way. Now you should have a bmp with 898x30 pixels in that case.Be sure you save it as bmp, otherwise this will not work. Simply change the format while saving as.....
Take this file and add a black line with 1 pixel height to the first line of it.Under this line make a light grey line with one pixel height too.In reality it is a semitransparent white line. You can use this, if you are a little more experienced in editing pictures. If not, it is not that bad. There's nearly no difference visible. Add some blur and/or reflection if you want. Use the GIMP or Photoshop to do this. Not possible with MS Paint.
Open your msstyle again with reshacker and replace the original taskbarbackground with yours. You can only save one new msstyle with reshacker. If you need more than one try, you have to delete or rename the previous one.
Doubleclick your new msstyle and you are done.
So there is no more need for the "milky" look of viglance. Use SBar instead.
You also can do a invisible taskbar with this like in the bottom picture.
Have fun!
P.S: Download contains a wordpadfile with this description and a wallpaper and taskbar example.

You can go to this gallerythanhtam98.deviantart.com/ to get some stuff made with this deviation. Mabe there is something you like.
If not please read the description above carefully. I cannot explain it better. But it is not as hard as it seems.

Ok Thanks, Peter !Β

My problem is that I do not know what to do I do not understand. I have a computer with windows xp (sp3) is that I can have the taskbar 7 aero?

I read the description, but I end up with 3 files (an image of a function of windows 7 screen, an image with only the bar) After software should I use? I do not understand? If you like it that's several weeks I tried to download themes but I can not seem to have this damn bar

Thank you very much and sorry to bother you again

Β Tried the invisible task bar and it works perfect. Good Job,
Β
Β I made a transparent rocketdock skin and called it "Second Taskbar".
Β It is much easier, I know Β  But what if we want a contrast of of wall and task bars?
Β For theΒ dock skin I made 15 variations of colors to match Β task bar, wallΒ and theme.

To be frank: What we achieve with our methods are crutches. Perfect
for one great screenshot, but to me not satisfactory in everyday use.
My dream is a Windows task bar without blur and and a Rocketdock
with changeable colors for the skins, not just the transparency.
Can you - or do you know somebody who can - help us?

I think there is an app on winaero which can remove the blur.
You can make the dock with Avedesk. Than you can change the color by software without additional images. Or use Rainmeter or Samurize.. Should work too.

Thank you for your advise and your time.
I will try Avedesk first.

Thanks again.

You can find a good example for a Avedsek dock herewww.avedesk.org/desklets/misc/…
It shows the potential what can be done with Avedesk.

I have no photoshop, but it should be the same as in GIMP. Make a new layer and place it between taskbar image and reflection image. That's all.

yes, but it's a bit more complicated as the taskbar is divided into different parts.

tried to install SBar, but won't run on x64.
I assume it solves the tray-size-problem I only realised today, though it still blurs the tray a bit.

I have never tried to use SBar on a x64 system. So i have no clue if or how it works with it.

Okay i get it its just gimp takes forever and im phptoshop educated. i dont want to read the gimp tutorials and using paint to get an invisble taskbar then putting it in reshacker and the final product is not good.
my resolutiom is 1280x800 and fiy the mssryle is sevnvg

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PeterRollar In reply to AlanL9 [2013-06-30 20:04:04 +0000 UTC]

All this sounds much more complicated as it is. It is a work of 10-15 minutes. Photoshop and GIMP are very similar, so this shouldn't be a problem.
