Keep reading on, or die tonight a exactly
12:42. This
is based on a TRUE STORY! Once there
was
a baby
girl named Marry. Her mother couldn't
take
all the
crying, so she decided it was time for her
to
go. She
buried her baby alive in her back yard.
After she
buried her she could still hear Marry
crying.
So she dug her back up and stabbed her
one
time in the arm,
and buried her again. Marry cried harder,
but a few
hours later it stopped. At exactly 12:42,
Marry died.
She bleed to death. Now her sprite
haunts
the
world. When your sleeping, she stabs
you in
the
arm and watches you bleed to death.
And
that's how she got the name "Bloody
Marry" this is the true story
of her. She wants everyone to feel her
pain
that she
felt. Apparently, if you re-post This isn't
fake.
Apparently, if you copy and paste this to
ten
comments in the next ten minuets you
will
have the
best day of your life tomorrow. You will
either get kissed or asked out, if you
brake
this chain you will
see a little dead girl in your room tonight.
In the next
53 minuets someone will say I love you
or
I'm sorry
to 12 other comments you will have the
best day of
your life tomorrow. But if you break this
chain you die
at exactly 12:42 tonight by Bloody Marry.
Don't believe me? You'll see not taking

Is there any way that we can remove the references to the domain . . . "DomainName\Username" or "Log in to: Domain Name" --- I've been trying to do this since my organization recently went through a name change and references to the old name are not desired.

Tried this file five minutes ago and it works perfect. Seems you made something wrong while replacing. You know that you have to take ownership of a systemfile to replace it? I'm pretty sure you still have the original file in place.Learn how to replace this file herewww.askvg.com/download-windowsβ¦

nope I didn't do anything wrong I took the ownership of authui.dll and renamed it to authui_original.dll and did the exact thing with basebrd.dll then I changed the value of OEMbackground in the regedit from 0 to 1 and I put the background from the zip file in C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds and I renamed it to BackgroundDefault
I'm pretty sure that's it please tell me if I did anything wrong !?

I agree, it seems you did nothing wrong. Mysterious. Why should something that works for so many people not work for you? Do you have SP1?
And can you give a screenshot of what you get?

Windows7 dlls are multilingual. So it works for any language. Thousands of people use it. The only risk is if you are not careful while replacing. Some basic knowledge needed.
This deviation is outdated. I recommend to use this one

Really looks good, but it seems that for my screen (1920x1080) this logon is too small. User pictures doesn't look the way they should be, you can see that lines aren't straight... Maybe those photos will explain you better that I mean: [link] , [link] .
Btw, still no plans for custom background?
π: 0 β©: 1
PeterRollar In reply to zydrius32 [2012-12-27 19:21:20 +0000 UTC]
I try to explain you what's the reason. Hope you understand because my english isn't the best. The userpicture of Win7 is only 120x120 pix and the userpic of Win8 is 200x200 pix. So i have to zoom the picture which causes a loss of quality.
Most pictures look better than the Win8 default one which really doesn't look good when it is zoomed. Simply try another more detailed one.
If you are an experienced user you can also try this:
Open authui with reshacker. Extract bitmap 12223. Copy the userpicture of your choice in the bmp. The size of the pic must be 200x200 pix.
After that you will have a not zoomed userpicture of better quality. This works because bmp 12223 normally is an overlay (frame) for the userpicture. This way it simply covers the zoomed image which is still there.
Only you loose the ability to change your userpic without reshacker.
DON'T make a new image to do this. You have to use the one you've extracted before. The userframes are digitally signed by Microsoft. When you use your own image your system will not boot anymore, so be careful.
A version which can be used for all colours is on the to do list for January. Believe me it is more work than most of the people think.

This problem isn't only with the user picture from your archive, "Windows" doesn't show my normal account picture too (I have several accounts). I can't edit "authui.dll", because I'm not the only person who's using this computer. I don't want my photos to be showed up in all accounts. Look at this deviant: [link] , user picture using this looks pretty good. Can you look into "authui.dll" from that deviant and report me which size this person is using to display pictures correctly? In this case I could edit your file by myself.
π: 0 β©: 1
PeterRollar In reply to zydrius32 [2012-12-27 20:17:31 +0000 UTC]
The answer is simple. He uses the default size and doesn't zoom anything. So the pictures keep their original appearance. I opened the file with reshacker and it seems to be a good logon. Why don't you use it?

zydrius32 In reply to PeterRollar [2012-12-27 22:47:34 +0000 UTC]
I like your more . How do I find in "authui.dll" where's the user picture's size? I know how to edit, but I don't know where to search.

PeterRollar In reply to zydrius32 [2012-12-28 01:04:18 +0000 UTC]
It is in the UI files. Note there are three. They must be all the same. This means edit one and copy and paste your changes to the other ones.

Thanx. Maybe i use it for my next logon. That's the usual way to remove stuff from logons. Set the layoutposition to none makes everything disappear.
The languagebar can be removed using the controlpanel, but it is a little bit complicated.

Hi, many thanks for making this for us. I have a request: looking at the screenshots, one can see that there is a small offset when comparing the user status (e.g. "Gesperrt") and the user name - they are not aligned "properly". Is this something that could be fixed easily?
π: 0 β©: 1
PeterRollar In reply to GeromeDoutrande [2012-12-02 12:40:55 +0000 UTC]
Honestly i'm not sure if it can be solved. The authui.dll is a beasty file which must be handled with care. All changes of the UI files of it are kinda tricky. Anyways i'm planning a workover of this deviation, to make it compatible with all background pictures. I will have a look on this than.
