The 64 bit files... do they go both in System32 and SysWOW64?
π: 0 β©: 2
dafmat71 In reply to Manneman [2012-08-01 08:41:26 +0000 UTC]
64 bits go to system32, you never will use syswow64 for authui!
π: 0 β©: 1
dafmat71 In reply to Manneman [2012-08-01 10:17:07 +0000 UTC]
Yes, there is authui for system32 and syswow64, but you don't care about syswow64, all you must do is place the authui in system32!!
Syswow64 is for 32 bits application and you explorer is x64, so you never will open a 32 bits logon!!

No problem, glad to help.
At the same time this helped me understand more of how the authui.dll works

I've added it for you. As well as it is only an example. You can use any userpicture you like.

vajlent In reply to PeterRollar [2012-07-31 21:29:59 +0000 UTC]
But the picture oversizes like sh*t and looks like sh*t? you cab't add a picture like 173x173 when it self-sizes like over 200x(pix)!!!
π: 0 β©: 1
PeterRollar In reply to vajlent [2012-08-01 04:27:45 +0000 UTC]
200 pix is the original size of the windows8 userpicture. The size of the win7 picture is only 123 pix without frame. Because the pic is zoomed it doesn't look so good with low details pictures. Try a better one like the default win7 flower.

This. Looks. Spectacular.
But there is room for improvement, like:
- The new version of Segoe UI in Windows 8, which was designed for Metro.
- Complete Windows 8 UI elements. The buttons, text fields and other elements have been flattened, including the taskbar.
- Metro taskbar orb.

Really nice...
By the way... the 64 bit version, isnΒ΄t that just the same files in both "System32" and "SysWOW64"? Or are the files different?

PeterRollar In reply to Manneman [2012-07-29 08:53:05 +0000 UTC]
Unfortunately the files are different. Please don't try this if you have a x64 system. It will be unbootable afterwards.

haha nice Peter, its simple yes but i havent seen any other to make such a thing for windows..this work and others u made are awesome..I was thinking lately to feature yr works on my blog too but i dont know from where to begin to be honest..there are so many..i want to just show some previews, say some things and send the readers directly here on yr dA account to download the files, read the descriptions and anything that comes from you! I ll need a small guide though to organize all this when you can do it and if you want of course you can just pick yr top works and tell me to feature them..even if those works are 5 mods or 100 mods..i dont have a problem on the number..besides as more they are as better..i just want to organize them on categorize them so i can write the posts!!

Wow! This is a wonderful offer Andreas. The problem is that these deviations get outdated very fast, because there is a new build number available. I think we should wait for the RTM to do this. I would be very glad to see my stuff on your blog. Thanx in advance.

andreascy In reply to PeterRollar [2012-07-28 17:02:18 +0000 UTC]
Awesome then!! We ll wait for the RTM to start from there..including mods for XP,Vista,7 and 8..whatever you make we ll feature it!! thank you Peter!!

I've already seen this. I don't really care about it. He simply uses another way to apply it. But this will not work with this deviation.

And not forget to say that basebrd is only for english users, for other languages: you must change the basebrd.mui!!
π: 0 β©: 1
PeterRollar In reply to dafmat71 [2012-07-27 19:54:49 +0000 UTC]
I use this on my german system without any probs. Which prolems do you face with your french one?
Or simply extract these few bmps and replace the ones in your basebrd.dll. Work of 5 minutes.
π: 0 β©: 1
dafmat71 In reply to PeterRollar [2012-07-27 19:56:35 +0000 UTC]
no in french we must replace the bmp in basebrd.mui, i think that in german the text is in english also, so it not must be changed in mui!
