Description
This is a skin for the newest Vistart version build 4001. Doesn't work with older versions.Works with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows7 and Windows 8.
Step1
ownload the exefile from Leesoft.com[link] and copy it to the main folders of this deviation.Step2:Copy the search provider.exe to the plugins folder
There are already some metrofied startmenus available around DA. Because they only can be used with the dektop function of Windows 8, this doesn't really makes sense. So i tried to make one which really matches the look of Windows 8 RTM desktop. As well as it is made almost for Windows 8, it can be used for all other OS since Windows XP and higher.
If you like it, give it a try.
No redistribution in Skinpacks/Transformationpacks allowed

My Vistart skins are sometimes a little bit extreme, so this may cause probs with the newest version of Vistart.

I am stuck with putting this in ViStart 8.1 (build 5077) using both this and the one in the Windows XP to 8 pack at AskVG. I have copied everything over, saying yes to all, but it doesn't show up in my themes list and I am only getting the other windows 8 skin you made (the one that comes with ViStart). Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

You did nothing wrong.These themes are not compatible with the new Vistart. They must be ported manual. The new skins folder is no more in program files. It is in appdata.To see appdata you have to go to folder options and check show hidden files and folders.

THANK YOU good & kind sir! It definitely makes the Win8 interface feel more like "home." Don't get me wrong, sometimes Win8 is nice, but it's so... different! I'm still trying to like it, & now it'll be easier all thanks to your application

EDIT: Just set it up, looks quite nice!
EDIT 2: I just changed all the icons to the ones down below. There's around 400 Metro inspired icons and it looks even nicer now. I also had to resize it haha because of the huge 512 by 512 pixel size.

als Startbutton würde ich den den nehmen den Microsoft mal gemacht hatte im der Consumer Preview oder wo das war, würde nur die alte Windows-flagge mit dem neuen icon ersetzten und das dann in den 4 Farben einfärben. den Shutdown Button würde ich allgemein etwas kleiner machen, und das Icon selber noch etwas kleiner, so das es nach oben und unten ca 8px Abstand hat, so das man nicht das Gefühl hat, das es gleich raus fällt
sonst gefällt's mir, vor allem wenns auch mit Windows 8 funktioniert, dann hat man wieder en ersatzt

Den Startorb kannst Du ganz leicht ändern. Da ist ein Ordner Startorbs. Kopiere einfach den, den Du benutzen willst darein.Anschliessend rechtsklicken auf den Orb des Startmenüs und den auswählen, den Du benutzen willst.

Thank you Andreas. I like it too. Only the interest is very low. Seems people like more metrofied stuff. Only this doesn't really fit with the Win8 desktop mode.
