Description
Here's the pattern: [link]Save the image somewhere on your computer, and it should be the right size to print. I don't know how mac works, but with PC, when you view the image in Windows Photo Gallery, select "Print" and uncheck the box where it says "fit picture to frame" (this is so that the size isn't distorted in any way). Even if it's a little off, it shouldn't matter too much.
OKAY. I know these instructions are rather crappy...but I'm still waiting on a friend to help me photograph while I work. Therefore, I included these intructions you see above; the colours refer to where the pieces match up to. You basically straight stitch those together.
So this is the pattern I used for mini-Gaara .
Therefore, it'll roughly be a 6" plush.
There are a few details that I can't explain without pictures (e.g. connecting the limbs to the body) so you can either a) figure it out yourself since it's not rocket science or b) wait patiently for me to upload more instuctions.
Oh, and you can use any type of fabric... I used craft velour bought off the net from here: [link]
or felt should work.. (but it's harder to paint on, so that's why I don't use it)
In summary, if people are interested in this pattern, I shall improve the instructions in the future.
Whoa, this is my first deviation for 2009! I've been inactive for so long!

The fabric is called 'craft velour' in the colour chamois. For painting, I would use the smooth side since the fuzzy side is hell to paint on.

i couldn't remember the name (should have wrote it down, sighs) I got a cotton polyester fabric blend. (mostly cotton though i can't remember the ratio) Do you think this fabric will work?

It's not so much the fiber content, but the weave type. Generally, I like something that doesn't fray and that has a bit of a stretch to minimize distortion around the seams. Also, if it's in the skintone that you want, that could work!

i don't understand how the head is put together, isnt it meant to be round? im so confused

pheleon In reply to Autumn-Star-Dreamer [2013-05-03 21:08:46 +0000 UTC]
It is round. Maybe a bit boxy if you're using a really stiff fabric, but if you use craft velour, its shape is round. I'd suggest to print out the pattern, cut it out making sure not to cut off the colour codes, and then phycially place the colours together (i.e. red over red, blue over blue, etc... though I'm guessing the purple might be confusing...I should have used a different colour-- those top cuts shaped like a V are meant to be sewn together, as if the V turns into a |, and not purple V over purple V.... If I've confused you more, just ignore me.)

First plushie finished thanks to this pattern!! [link]
I tried so many different patterns (especially for the head), I even tried to do some by myself, but I have no idea about how to make a head pattern.
I'm very gratefull that you shared this pattern, I'll try to make my own patterns in the future (because I don't know what's your policy about patterns), but this really helped me to know more about plush patterns.
Really, thanks very much, you're an inspiration for me (even when that means I have a long way to go)

it all makes sence acept how to join the body to the rest of it. Maybe im just not seeing the colors but i cant tell which end gets attached where.

pheleon In reply to UnintellegentDesigns [2011-12-12 14:05:21 +0000 UTC]
The parts where there aren't any colours is where they get attached... aside from the arms where you'd stitch them on, and sorta eyeball the length. Also, for the head, it screws onto the torso, and then you'd ladder-stitch it together.

Thanks, this is definitely a mini plushie pattern I can play with & learn from. The head is the best part, it's still spherical-like despite the plushie being such a small scale. Thanks! Fav++;
