Thank you so much! I'm glad there is some useable freeware. Do you know how I can import rasters in GIMP? I'd like to make a Doujin but I don't want to spend so much money for the software...

Hi! Thank you for helping! This tutorial is simply... perfect! I've had Gimp since a long time, but I haven't used it, because I didn't know how to use it well. With this tutorial /and with patience and time/ I'm sure I'll be successful. Thank you!

Um, how do you use the convolve tool? Cuz I'll use it... and it will just end up looking really... crappy?

Do you have a specific way of stroking it?

Aaaah, I'm having trouble! T~T With me, everytime I do the base color with the foreground color select it doesn't show the color, but I can see it in my layers? What gives? O_O

pheona In reply to HippieSister [2010-04-18 15:53:45 +0000 UTC]

That is awfully confusing. I'm not sure what the deal is... try starting from the top and following the directions in order to see if you missed something

Every time I try coloring; white spots appear in the edges of what I am trying to color; what am I doing wrong?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

darkuchiha7777 In reply to NativeInuPup [2010-04-02 08:17:23 +0000 UTC]

here's a tip... choose the Fuzzy select tool and go to SELECT >> GROW
Now, u could adjust the selection by making it grow by 1 or 2 pixels that should be the perfect grown selection don't u think hope this one helped

I have one question. How do you get the color to go "Under The Lines"? When I color a certain layer, it leaves some part close to the lines white. So that it doesn't color it fully. Am I doing something wrong?

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

pheona In reply to Yokoshin [2010-02-10 17:43:48 +0000 UTC]

Sorry this is so late.the problem might be that there is white spots on your lineart layer

Yokoshin In reply to pheona [2010-02-12 23:37:52 +0000 UTC]

That makes sense too. Thanks.

CrazyKyuubi In reply to Yokoshin [2010-02-07 11:35:04 +0000 UTC]

You take the layer for the color and put it underneathe the lineart layer. Hope it helped.

Thank you very much for making this tutorial! [this and the lineart one]. It was really helpful, my works don't look half as good as yours but I think it takes practice Heh, I'm so silly...I messed up my first colouring attempt because I didn't figure out the layers with the lineart and colour have to be transparent *smacks forehead* But apart from my stupid mistake the tutorial was a LOT of help and I mean a lot; thanks again for making it!
