Description
A little more "realistic" than some of the other Concept Art and Illustration I post here, this is another painting for the book project. For this one, instead of having a million things going on in the scene I wanted it to appear peaceful and atmospheric. I hope you likeand if there was ever a painting of mine to look at large this is the one...so please do
Phil

It's my wallpaper now =]
I really like the swan! Did you use a render for it or did you make it without one?

It's beautiful!
Amazingly beautiful!
The effect is unbelievable, it's almost like I am there when I look at the picture.
And the "lost" swan gives it a sad touch in my opinion.
Incredible talent & skills you have, I mean it's very realistic.
I envy you

This is kind of nostalgic for me; it reminds me of old paintings of Norwegian nature scenes from 18th and 19th century. Odd how one can feel so for something so long ago.
Anyway, the lighting is marvellous and the look of the mountains just right. Though the swan looks a bit lost and out of place.

nice obeservation--the swan is "lost" and part of the bigger story the imagery is associated with. Stay tuned

I was so tensed the whole day that I thought nothing could calm me down, but as it appears I was wrong! This painting is so calm, so peaceful that only looking at it for some moments soothed me!
What can I say? You are a magnificent artist!

very nice theres a lot of things that make me think this is digital painting over a photomanip though, like the transparent mountain, the tree on the left, and how the lighting doesnt seem to match on the mountains.. but that would just be a category issue. i still like it very much :3

This reminds me quite a lot of a painting of the Yosemite Valley done by Albert Bierstadt at the end of the 19th century.

that's a pretty nice matte painting, I like the colour palette and the lighting. however, it looks a bit weird because it seems like you just pasted the mountain stock on top and reduced the opacity. I can see the rear mountain structure through, and there's a similar thing with the water/wave line showing through that stone at the bottom, but that's less appearant.
but other than that nice work, you a chieved a truly soothing atmosphere, even if the image keeps some suspense and even a slightly foreboding feeling
Daniel
