No idea why anyone would be offended, as this is not only in-depth, but gives more than enough variety. I'll definitely be adding this to my collection of anatomy tutorials. Thanks!

thank ya sir (or ma'am if you are a ma'am)! I really like the idea of making different shapes (I always made really tiny people.... oops...) Now I can learn from this! Thank you!

Finally a realist tutorial for female bodies. I find it quite hard to find such tutorials, so thank you for making it.

I was trying to make this character appear tall, like amazonishly tall. But I'm not quite sure how well I portrayed it.

I think making the torso longer might be your solution. Everything else seems fine, but the shorter torso makes her look less tall.

This is an amazing tutorial! It gives an ideal on how to draw all figure types Even the plus sizes look amazing and I'm glad someone has shown it. Then the muscular types are done beautifully also
I just love this tutorial so much. Everything about it.

what are bases and how would someone cheat off of them?
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
fizzymoth In reply to gypsaq [2014-07-16 07:08:31 +0000 UTC]
A base is when someone draws the basics of a human body, and then they put it on dA for someone to draw over on top of it.
People usually use these bases when they want to draw something without having to worry about the anatomy (because it was already drawn for them).

Phobos-Romulus In reply to gypsaq [2014-07-16 03:22:11 +0000 UTC]
Bases are basically blank bodies for other artists to draw clothes, accessories, hairstyles colors...etc. on top of, since they, for whatever reason can't draw a body by themselves.

PsychoPyro813 In reply to Phobos-Romulus [2014-07-16 07:15:19 +0000 UTC]
I just want to say that not all of us use bases to "cheat"; I use them specifically for the purpose of creating "dolls", and I only use bases originally created with that intent in mind. I consider it entirely separate from any other art form, including traditional and other digital styles (I draw my own stuff with pens and pencils, but it's been years since I've had any formal form of instruction/the time and patience to hone my skill). Some of the most prominent dollers on the site put a lot of effort into what they create (and they make other art as well). It really doesn't have anything to do with whether or not we can draw bodies ourselves. BTW, this is why I have separate folders for bases and for other forms of stock resources I'd never dream of using anything for what it wasn't originally intended for.

I'm really not accusing all people who use bases, just many of them are the type to try and use things like this.

Oh good! (And really I didn't think you were, but I still felt the need to say something in defense of dollers for the benefit of other people reading through these comments ) Because yes, using things against their intent is absolutely cheating.

I only have nipples just barely indicated, I didn't find it necessary to tag it mature.

It doesn't need one. It's ment for study and learning rather than indulges and pleasure. Kinda like most medical and anatomical books. :U Simply, if the reader sees it as porn, then that's just silly! Cx
