Leigh is where I was brought up, and only moved from a couple of years ago. I am on the Blackburn Wigan branch. The marina is on section 5. The layout has been changed since this photo, but I am moored where that green one is facing the camera half way up the shot above the blue boat.
The sections before show the top lock where I was photographed with Miffy, the pub we went in, the locks we went up and a shot from the bottom lock with the buildings on the left. I moored up right where that boat is in the shot and helped all the others through the locks.

White Bear Marina .. where did that name come from ?

The bridge at the marina is called white bear bridge for some reason. The marina was only built in the 50s. The canal has been here since the late 18th century.
